A bit disappointed by the ending though...

I quite enjoyed the story but it feels like some things weren't properly dealt with.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Like the cruel prince of Lithuanel who became king by betraying his family and the ajin who genuinely loved him. Seriously, he deserved to be punished, but we never heard about Lithuanel again during the rest of the manga.

AND WHAT ABOUT LOKI? I feel this story was soooo unfair to him.

After he separated from the rest of the group, Nakaba could have used a bit of her power to meet him sometimes within the Arcana of time. Or she could just have gone see him like she did with Caesar when they were separated. Or just plainly go see him IRL! I just feel he was left out all along, that's too sad. And I actually would have preferred him not to be Nakaba's brother, it makes this story even sadder for him...

Reimei no Arcana started good until it reached exactly the middle part of the story. I felt that the author just wanted to finish it halfway and tried to make ends meet by using Nakaba's arcana of time to conveniently explain the plot. I felt cheated. What should have been paced in one volume was mushed into a couple of pages. :/

Honestly, it's been a long time since I've loved a series like this. Sure, it's not perfect and the love triangle elements might be cliche, but the art is gorgeous, the plot is tightly woven, and the emotions really come through. It's hard to ask for more.

...for Loki. I think he's probably the most pitiable character in this manga. He's like forever alone yet he have to bear such tragic feelings and

such tragic ending.
As for Nakaba, I didn't like her that much. She was pretty irritating even at the beginning of the story and as she progresses throughout the story, I find her confusing herself in every chapter more and more. She's really indecisive and well...I just don't like her. I think the one with biggest character development would be Caesar. He's all high and mighty at first but gradually turning into a gentleman. He's still strong but less aggressive compared to how he is in the beginning.

As for the story, I think it's quite decent and the flow of the plot goes on like a seamless line which I think it's pretty fine. It's not complicated and it's very clear what's going on around. The art...well, I've always loved Toma Rei's way of drawing so I've got no complains, definitely. Just a tiny bit of the characters. :> Even so, it's a nice read.

The art can be lacking in many places in this series. Also seems to be some trend with shoujo to make the dialogue as hard to follow as possible, which leaves plot holes and questions, though that could also be the fault of the translators. Overall it could have been better.

This is definitely one of the more interesting plots out there and it always keeps you on your toes because there's always something happening. I do admit, some parts are pretty predictable but there was just such a good balance of romance, mystery, fantasy and especially adventure. There are so many twists that get you hooked and yeah, i definitely had a lot of "WHHAAAAATTT?!" moments all the way to the last chapter of the manga. I definitely loved Nakaba because she's strong but also because she has a weak side that she's aware of and still strives to overcome it and grow. The romance was pretty good too! Although their relationship was pretty predictable, it was nevertheless full of support, love, trust and strength.

The Ending:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Damnit! I knew Loki was going to die! I knew it right from the start but I chose not to believe it because fuck, can't everyone just live for once?! Anyways, the ending was alright. It definitely left me with a big "WTF!!" reaction and all but I couldn't stop thinking about poor Loki. He sacrificed so much only to be alone. Not to mention the ending was a little confusing like why did he take the throne from her only to die and give it back? Anyway i just wish the mangaka didn't kill him off just because Nakaba chose Caesar.

The ending i guess was necessary because everything just made sense after that and wrapped it up but yeah......

and I give it a 9/10! Pleaseeeee give it a try, the adventure is too good to pass.

I just finished this manga in under 3 days and it is now one of my very favorites. The plot and character developments have so many unexpected twists and turns that it kept me at the edge of my seat. The end of almost every chapter left me desperate to know what happens next. The political aspect was at the forefront of the manga, and the romance was there, but not as much as a typical shoujo. Don't get me wrong, it is a major emotional roller coaster. One minute, laughing, the next crying, the next saying "aww". If you are looking for a well-thought-out manga with a bit of everything (love, politics, fight scenes) Reimei no Arcana is probably for you. Lastly, I LOVED the art. Toma has a talent for facial expressions. With minor details, the expressions on her characters can deal quite the emotional wallop!

.......I hated Nakaba. I really disliked her personality. Nakaba and Caesar coming to love each other was very predictable, and at times I wanted to drop the manga. Some characters are likeable, and the art is above average. Nakaba's ability - Time's Arcana is interesting at first but then you lose interest in it. Honestly I wouldn't say that the MC is a "Strong Female Lead." The only areas in the manga I still remember clearly is the tragedy. The rest is blurred and the characters are pretty forgettable.

I'd initially started reading Reimei no Arcana around two years ago, back when I loved shoujo. Since I don't like reading ongoing series due to the suspense (and forgetting the plot), I decided to leave it and come back when it was finished.

Now, finished it is, and I'm rather happy with how the story turned out. All I really wanted was Nakaba to be happy-especially with Caesar.

While I have to agree that certain parts of the last few chapters seemed rushed, ultimately the last twist was something I never suspected. It was sad, but it made everything make sense. Actually, I might even go so far as to say the ending is one of my favourite parts of the series.

Plus, Toma Rei's art is amazing ^^
