From HMR:

The main character, Rui, is a hardworking and happy girl. One day, her neighbor moves away and leaves behind a stuffed panda bear. Rui decided to take it home, since she's always loved panda bears. She goes to sleep with it one night, and discovers herself in bed with a stranger (who also happens to look like her ideal man) the next morning. He introduces himself as Peter, and that is how she ends up meeting three other guys...

Growing up ...

... isn't easy. The storyline actually brought out this point quite well, although you get also glimps of a really tragic past and painful memories among childhood friends. That romance is just a subplot is in my eyes something, that makes this Shoujo even more special. You get hints of possible romantic developments every now and then, but facing the flow of the main plot, the amount is just right to bring out the importance of the characters growing up even more.

The drawing style is appealing and cute, especially when you get to see the SD faces during jokes. Aside from this the serious matters are drawn accordingly in a more mature way and even the backgrounds (and effects) have been done okay.

As for the characters growth - It's there and yet, considering the depth of the past issues, the level is kind of realistic. That's another positive aspect to mention, before I'm going to end my comment with a recommendation. Kkk.

If you like stories, that have some intresting plot twists and balance between a heavy & funny atmosphere, then this might be worth it's while. Romance as subplot or not - It's likeable as it is. ^^

It was awesome and everything. I almost cried, too. Something is weighing on my mind though. What was the whole marriage thing about. If someone knows please pm me. I'm more curious then when I see a bishounen from an unknown anime or manga. I'm lying now, but I'm still really curious.

Peter Panda is in my opinion a very good manhwa series. Rui, the main character is strong, funny and cute. The other mains are also very interesting and you really can't help but like them. Unlike many shoujos out there, the characters in this story actually have "depth." Each of them either has or had a hard life as well as big obstacles and are easy to relate to. You should definitely read this

More than it seems

Like the other comments said, this doesn't have the fluffy shoujo plot you thought it might have--it just has bishies, and there are barely hints of romance. I guess I was disappointed at first too, but when I finished it, it felt somewhat poignant. It had a lot of potential, and it wasn't fulfilled. There could've been a lot more, but even so, short makes it sweet. smile

The story's not supposed to go anywhere. I don't know how to explain this without spoilers but
Spoiler (highlight to view)
the whole idea is for the main characters to let go of their past/childhood
. And that's the reason why I liked Peter Panda so much--I personally am a person who cannot let go of my happy childhood. It's bittersweet, funny, and nostalgic.

Not good at all

Wow, never knew a would be fluffy shoujo would suddenly turn so depressing. If theres a romance tag there and thats why you pick this up, then please rethink it, because you will feel ripped off. This is one hell of a "try-original-plot-but-fail" kind of manga.

the story started really well but then it just got lousy since there was no romance developing even though there were scenes and that Peter Guy said that he was the image Rui's but in the end we never find out who she would be with since the Peter said at the beginning that he saw the guy or help future guy she would be with but at the end she calls them "Brothers" and we aren't shown the face of Peter at the end when he takes off his glasses to see who he looks like! this was one of the stories that have crappy ending

it specially just left an empty feeling after finding out what really happened in the 3 boys past that was just not good if only that scene was different! really didn't like the ending i think there could have been a bit more tot he story it just feels like it ended to fast!

I wouldn't necessarily classify this as romance despite the fact that talk of finding a significant other is revisited in at least every other chapter. It is almost an exclusive 'study' on the crisis-colored lives of a select group of teenagers. In the beginning it was very promising, but the story began to lag somewhere around volume 3... and not going to lie here, but the ending was terribly anti-climatic, though it worked. Don't read it if your looking for some typical superficial shoujo flair because you probably won't get any.

Story stuck somewhere in the past & trying too much

For some reason, they really just can't stop talking about their problems. Especially the three main leads. I don't even feel the story progressing because of all that dialogue. I understand that some facts about the story need to be established well but enough is enough. I feel like there's not even any normal storytelling anymore because it seems like every word that comes out of their mouth has a "greater" meaning or has the key to unlocking their deep dark past that they (the 3 leads) just can't seem to get over. I don't have anything against a "philosophical" approach when it comes to presenting the story but as a reader, I feel that sitting back, just having the story unfold before you, leaving you to make your own conclusions about the story is oftentimes much better.

Drama, comedy and hints of romance, plus the complexity of the characters and their interactions, all of which carefully constructed in a realistic (even with the fantasy feeling), albeit still lovely, way: all perfectly blended together into one f****** masterpiece (IMO) of a manhwa. Too bad it's been dropped, but even though I like to, huh, handle my money carefully (ok, so I'm a bit of a cheapskate) this one is definitely worth buying. Also: I love the art.
Also, a few last words: DO. NOT. PASS. IT. UP.

This is one of my most anticipated series, I think. I read the first few chapters way back when it started being scanslated, and ever since then I've reserved a small part of my heart for this series. I guess the funnest part about it, is that you don't really know who Rui's going to end up with, so it really makes for a lot of, OMG is it him? Is it him?! XD Plus the three main guy charas are the prettiest, most snirkable bishies. And their relationship (as well as themselves) is kind of messed up and knotted, so it's interesting to learn more about it, and themselves, as the story progresses. The byplay with Rui and Peter really makes for great comedic relief, and Rui herself is a pretty likeable heroine. I'm really anxiously awaiting its release by DramaQueen, but so far they haven't put a date to the first volume, or anything, yet, so it's a bit sad. *sigh* If only I knew how to read Korean.. >><<;;;;
