The art is not exactly my cup of tea, but it's pretty good.
EDIT: I originally said that I couldn't make out a plot, but I lied. It's there, but the whole plot deceived us to think of something else. It's all over the place imo. It's a mystery--like a detective story. We find clues in the story, but the story is misleading. Something related to drugs that can make a human into an immortal (vampire). There's a side character that's an investigator, whose significance I cannot quite grasp.
As others have said before, the interaction between the vampire and the cyborg vamp hunter-priest is an erotic one. You should expect shounen ai vibe, because this is classified as one. I had expected it to be borderline yaoi because of the vampiric theme, but it's surprisingly innocent interaction (innocent imo...). They obviously have a thing for each other, but the art only hinted (heavily) at that *possible something something*.
Seriously, I've got to admit; the combination of vampire and slash is hot. The innuendo is...so clear. So, so obvious. Warrants some heavy rolling of the eyes. And of course, a lot of "necking" as expected.
I'm surprised I find the body language rather sensual despite the body type of the couple (both extremely muscular).
I enjoyed it for the most part. It got a bit dull some where in between so I put it aside for a bit, but I kept reading til the latest chapter.

It was okay. There were certain scenes/images that were really well-done, but this storyline is otherwise lacking. Once I got to Ch 23 and 24, the series became "meh." I still want to know what the Vassalord is.

interesting actually. but im just scanning, i'm not thoroughly reading it.. this can say a lot.

im not really into fantasy genre but this acatually caught my attention. however, i dunno. uhm, i can't get myself into this. there were some scences that is really sexual without having the sexual act. that's how good the art was. the character's feeling shows without it being cheesy.

i really like it. but i guess this is a bit overrated by some. just because this is a refreshing plot doesn't mean its one of the best manga..

A lot of people told me this manga was wonderful, amazing... "You have to read it!". Well, they made me think this was REALLY a masterpiece. But in truth, it's not. The plot isn't bad... it's interesting, but a bit confusing. The characters... I don't like them at all. They're not bad, nor good. They are nothing... they don't interest me, they don't arouse my curiosity. There is too much fan service, it distracts from the plot. If the mangaka wanted to do a yaoi manga, she should have done it! But this is an hybrid between a shonen bad done and a yaoi with vampires. Not my type!

My first though was 'oh boy this will be stupid', i mean cyborg vampire? What next? I was proven wrong xD Ok i still don't go in for the whole cyborg thing but im sure theres an interesting history behind that *waits patiently for that history*, but what got me was the biting o_o i never thought i had a fetish but... yeah... biting... *laugh* this manga ruined me. Anyway *clears throat* i've always been a bit of a vampire fan ever since i was a kid (when i spent many sleepless nights worrying that a vampire was going to fly into my room through the window), but i'd rarely read manga along that theme. First of all, the art impressed me. Its clear, crisp, detailed without being too detailed and well laid out. Secondly, the first chapter really does a brilliant job of summing up the relationship between the two main characters. It hooks you and drags you into the next chapter. As things progress somehow you just get mired deeper and deeper xD

As for the yaoi factor, as far as things go, its quite light. However, the moments where things progress to a touchy-feely stage the passion and intensity of those scenes is quite impressive given that this is closer to being shounen-ai rather than yaoi. All i can say is, if you have no problem with two guys having a nibble at each other you should read it xD Also, although its only officially scanlated up to chapter 15 there are 2 other chapters which have been released in english by individuals. Im waiting on further chapters. Im truly hooked.

Vasslord's got the fantastic art, the angsty BL relationship that fans go crazy over, and hot characters. The only thing that's preventing it from having the whole package is the plot, like many have stated. The mangaka has too many ideas and struggles to pack it all in a few chapters, which ends up being extremely confusing to the reader.

That ended up being WAY more awesome than I thought it would be. Cyborg religious vampire x vampire! Awesometastic. The art was drop dead sexy, and the humor wasn't overdone. The plot isn't too good, but I still liked it a lot anyways. I love the relationship they have.

Wow, non-girly uke, lots of action, unfamiliar character...
Angst, funny, and..well, I have to say that It's real, more than a lots of Sa-ya manga out there even It contain demon/vampire/cyborg...

The art was the first thing I noticed about this manga. Actually, lol, it's probably the thing that captured my attention. Johnny is so attractive~ At first, I didn't really like Charley. His hair seemed weird. But then I saw him with Johnny and it was really...um, sensual? I don't know. But I agree with brid. There's not much plot to this story, and if there is, it's really....confusing. Messy.
And really, I like parts and bits of the story, but when it's all put together, not so much. I like the characters. I like what they can do. But when you put that all together, it's not as fun as you think.
Maybe the story gets deeper eventually, but right now, that's my impression.

Vassalord is an intriguing story. It not only captivates you with its wonderful art, but also in times of angst between Charley and Johnny. There are also light moments between the two, so that you don't have to take in too much. I recommend this to anyone whose a fan of that "Your the only one for me" type of relationship. *SIgh* The downside is just that I wish the English publisher could meet the standards of Vassalord. It absolutely deserves the best!
