I had read the translation of this short story a year ago when my friend gave me the collection of short stories. Back then, I didn't really glance at the author and thought it was made by an English author. Imagine my surprise when I found this manga! I read the first page, thinking...."I've read this before....where have I...." and then it hit me. I'd already read the short story!
Yeah, major sense of deja-vu. But I liked it. I still cried at the end, despite knowing the story. I think the art helped, like meganoloso said, since it had the dark undertones. This one also stayed true to the short story more....

The art is really good and I prefer it to the Tsuzuki Setsuri one. It is very detailed and sort of matches the dark undertones of the story. I really enjoyed the dialogue in the story and I like how it stayed true to the focus of the story (the relationship between the two people). The only thing is that it is a tragedy so, you know how that goes....

I like the art of this one better. But I think that people is confused, This one and the other one that is more shoujo like were written by the same author. It's just the artist that changes. My guess is that the one that was a one-shot and was drew by Tsuzuki Setsuri was enough successful to become a series, but for some reason the artist was changed. Even if it's like that, I have to say that the artist has great influence in the work, and not just because of the way they draw it.
Anyway, as far as I have read, it's a really good one.

I like this one better too.
The other one was just too overfluffed. I like shoujo and all, but it's too hyped up for my taste.
This one was nice. I like the simplicity. It's great.

I prefer this one than Tsuzuki Setsuri's one. It is very detailed int the story better than Tsuzuki Setsuri's one and not confusing.the art is good too for a shonen.
