Description
Alice Seno seems like a normal girl in high school. She's a bit shy, she's got a crush on a boy named Kyou, and she's got an older sister who is more popular than she is... pretty normal stuff, until Alice has an encounter with a mysterious and magical rabbit girl that changes the course of her life, and Alice is introduced to the sublime power of the Lotis Words.

this is a pretty good manga!
yeah, i agree with some of the comments, below, it is one of those you love or you hate!
errrr, yeahh, i didn't hate it, i didn't love it but read it!
and if it was boring i wouldn't have finished it, so it not a waste of time, it is just something, that you wouldn't yell about, but say it!

Yuu Watase was my first shoujo mangka and she holds a place in my heart....maybe if i was older when i found her stuff i wouldn't of liked it as much but this one of my fav series of all times i like the darkness of the story and the power of words message. I guess when it comes down to it im just a sucker for forbidden love.
In all honesty...

This is a little straightforward, but I don't like most of Watase's works at all. I read some of her more popular works and they just aren't exactly to-die-for. The slice-of-life school life and the dramatic demon-fighting guns blazing, for the mangaka, should be separated. She doesn't do a very good blend of both genres; not to mention, it's in most of her works and it's become quite boring to read.
The mangaka does the school life genre really nice. It's a nice and light touch on the everyday social life. If she did one manga entire on school life based on her "Fushigi Yugi," "Ceres: Celestial Legend," and "Alice 19th" works, I think I would find it as pleasant as Fruits Basket. In fact, I loved her Imadoki! manga. It's absolutely beautiful and it's very sweet and simple; it was entirely on social life, such as school, home, and work.
Her save-the-world genre isn't bad either; I have to admit, she's got a pretty vast imagination. I appreciate it, but like I have said before, Yuu's blend of the two just doesn't quite do it for me. I don't know if she's doing anymore manga, but I do hope to read something more decent in the future.
This manga, however, was pretty boring to me. There were scenes, or rather pages and even chapters, where there were a lot of dialogue, information that the reader needs to absorb to understand what's going on. So for me, if I scroll to the next few pages and just a crapload of dialogue, I usually just skip over because they don't usually refer back to that "important" info. And then!...there are other scenes (or pages and chapters) of just fighting and the movements are extremely hard to follow so I just skip over them also. This work has the usual boring romance the mangaka is obsessed with. Know this: if you read one of her works, chances are, the other one is gonna be very similar. I do, however, recommend this to anyone who is really into super cheesy romance manga.

This is one of those manga's that you really just hate or love. I thought it was o.k. The tale was spun nicely. The art developed well throughout the manga. On the whole it was not something I would want to read again but not a complete waste of time either.
Well...

I was hesitant to read this (the ratings for this series were so-so) but the comments were full of praise, so I went for it. But, ughh, after reading some of it, I had to stop since it was way too annoying. I won't rate it since I didn't read it in its entirety (I just skipped over to the last couple of volumes only 'cause I wanted to know how the damned story ended).

This is the first Watase Yuu manga I read. It is full of drama and suspense and for fantasy genre standards is quite interesting. It is a fun read for any who like Watase Yuu. Romance is a good portion and comedy is slipped in intermittently.
I like how Watase-sensei does not hesitate to make fun of her bishounen. And speaking of bishounen, she does do some of the best looking bishounen in manga.

The non perverted escape to Yuu Watases world of hot hunks. I personally get put off by ecchi and erotic scenes and whatever not. Still young, i stick to the memorable kissing scenes. It was cute and sweet, in short. She endorsed the characters to develop their feelings. Definitely worthwhile. And her art? Better than ever.
too much angst...

i liked this one because the main character is not your typical tsundere or the im-too-weak-c'mon-and-save-me type...she's in between. i really like the concept of Yuu Watase about the Lotis words (great imagination!), but the only thing that i can say thats gonna keep it from attaining the 10/10 rating is that there's too much angst and nudity (i think it could have been better if she didnt exaggerated the nudity thing, my parents can see!!) but therefore i really loved the action and romance espeacially, FUREI'S prevertedness...a definite must read 1 thumb up!!!
Yet another great story by watase-sensei

I didn't want to read it because i thought it would be cheesy becuase of the alice and wonderland theme they decided to use but it turned out better then i though. i cries alot towards the end (i'm a very emotional person). I kept cheering alice on and sometimes i was getting mad at how stupid she was acting. this manga really turn my emotions and thought that the watase yuu created it just for that. i hope she does a part two (hopefully ^_^)
