It's actually not that bad

Come now anyone who has read this from the beginning to now and still feels like this is a bad read needs to apprently not read manga cause they have no taste for it. Now I understand in the first chapters the book turned me off for how baller and powerful it made everyone on the second team seem and most importantly that middle eastern guy and they just get destroyed left and right as if theyaren't any kind of opposition to the roaches but then they give the character their backstory after they die that was something I couldn't understand but you gotta keep reading it and now, the only reason why I get mad at the book is the idiotic problems going on with the people other than that it has a decent plot that just gets slight additions put on it every so often and it explains every reason why they happen, the characters you can fall in love with because of their stories (but try not too get too attached cause ya never know) and then the action oh goodness the action!! I'm not a big action anime or manga fan but this book will make you just want to see what happens to person and roach alike oh and they have some actual real animals and bugs traits so you learn a little bit too! So inclusion I say 8 out of 10 and sorry for the huge comment also

Holy hell was that horrible. The plot, along with the monsters, literally make no sense. I kept waiting for something to click and after 2 volumes of nonsense I'm calling quits.

Yes, people do die in this manga. Does that matter though? No. Past the shock value in first chapter, it's irrelevant and expected. Terra Formars also contains gore which, like death, also loses it's wow factor after the first X beheadings. The series simply lacks the meat that fills in the space from one decapitation to another.

Amazing, NOT RECOMMENDED for PUSSIES

This manga has a rather unique plot. It may seem weird at first with the huge cockroaches, but that just adds to the suspense of unpredictable thrillers. The action scenes and beautiful art is really something. The way most insignificant characters, and even main one's die is just refreshing from your usual shounen genre. This is a must read if you are a seinen fan, it would be a huge disappointment, because i believe this manga will reach the top. That's how good i think it is!

Typical gore, violence, and "gotta survive" mentality going on in this manga ... but the cockroaches and the absurdity of the entire thing... I can't be the only one that got peeved by that.

Not for everyone and maybe... The next Gantz?

Now this was a surprise. Just read 3 volumes straight and it gets better every single volume.

But... I have to say, this manga is not for everyone, for a bunch of reasons. First off, there is gore. While it isn't the goriest or one of the goriest things around for sure, it definitely contains a significant amount of gore. If you're susceptible and sensitive towards gore, it's probably best to stay away.
Next, this is clearly a manga that isn't too focused on a very complex plot. The main attraction here is violence, clearly. But don't get me wrong. The plot has been moving and there are clear signs of a big conspiracy brewing behind the scenes, something we'll see more of in volumes to come. It's just that I don't think you should be reading this if you're looking for an interesting and complex storyline as that isn't its main focus.
Another thing that might put some people off is the high mortality rate. Like Gantz, this is a manga where a lot of people die. A lot of people you weren't expecting to even. This is one of the most enjoyable points for me - as it becomes very unpredictable and way more thrilling - but I have heard that some people dislike stuff like that. Some people prefer the more... how to call it... "shonen" approach to things, where the main characters get together, form a group and most of that group stays alive till the end. If that's the case with you, this is probably not the best choice.

That being said, if you enjoy these, this is definitely one to check out. I might be jumping the gun in calling it the next Gantz, I know. What I mean with that comparison is that the feeling of those two is somewhat similar. People who are taken to a different place to fight monsters that they can't possibly comprehend. Most of them die, even some that you thought were going to be important characters. The pace throughout the action scenes is fast and stained with ruthless kills (from both sides). The threat our characters are facing often seems completely overwhelming and they have to crawl with all they have just to pull themselves out of it. This description fits both mangas and that's why I made the comparison. Then again, there are a lot of things separating them (for instance, Terra Formars has more dialogue - that both kills a bit of the pace at times and increases the "coolness" of the abilities - and Gantz is more about normal humans that are given weapons whereas TF features superhuman characters).

Lastly, the scientific or historical quotes from actual books was a very nice touch.

I do hope that this doesn't go to sh*t like Gantz did, but that's a whole different matter.

Mutant humanoid cockroachs as enemies with Gantz-level gore and up its character-kill-off plot by a few notches, then you got this manga. Rarely a manga leaves me with such a digusting taste in my mouth.

Rate 7 not because its average (its quite great even though not for everyone's taste), but because its too much for me *__*

Prequel?

Read the first 2 chapters and I was like 'dafuq?' It's like those characters were created for the sole purpose to die a horrible death. Like supercyc said, how can anyone get attached with these unexplored extras when they die, like, 2 pages after their first appearance?

But the teaser in chapter 6 seems to give this series a new hope. If the first six chapters are the prequel of the events in the future, I guess it all makes sense that the author had to kill the crews and spare a few.

I have the feeling that this series is going to be legend- wait for it....

this is a great manga, great art style, great delivery.
The thing i hate about it is that almost everyone is dead in the first 2 chapters
RIDICULOUS!
Out off an entire crew (2 technically)- of unexplored characters (and a flashback doesn't entirely count), they're all dead like cannon foder in split seconds. how can someone get attached to these characters when it's expected for them to die.

In the 4th chapter something happens that might show that terrible misconceptions about evolution aren't the author's true state of knowledge and
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the roaches are creations made the same way as the bugs #2 guys.
At the end of the chapter though it goes back to the way it was, or does it?
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Something might have actually helped in the roaches' evolution into what they are now.
Overall: great art, great action, plot starting to unfold. Looks like something between Zetman and Gantz, and near Gantz in my book.

I like the combination of muai thai and locust legs :).

ParafinLove, you were too quick to comment on this bigrazz .
