A Very Good Story

I love this couple's story (especially since it's about yakuza =P), and I must say, it's one of my favorite couples of all time. Although I didn't like the cheating that was going on with one of the main characters, (and I really don't like the character that he cheated with) I'm glad it ended happily. I think this story is one of the main reasons why I fell in love with Fuwa Shinri's mangas and I hope she writes more storeis like this in the future.
Very good!

Love the art! I didn't like the instances of violence, but the romance and jealousy was interesting. I had to keep reading just to find out if they break up or not! I do wonder about what happened to the guy that got left alone in the end....but then I saw that there's a side story!! Yay!!!! I'm so reading that!! XD
LOVE IT!

Oh I love this series! I hate yaoi with not plot and have nothing but a whole bunch of sex sences! This plot was more realistic and highly enjoyable! It had the right amount of everything! I absolutly loved it!

So here's the thing: the manga doesn't have the most original plot, it doesn't have the most original characters and it doesn't have the most original artwork. As it's been said before, it is, in fact, very soap-opera-ish, the portrayal of the yakuza is of the toned-down type, and the character design is rather common and basic.
But still I couldn't put it down. Starting the story in the middle of an established relationship was pretty nice. I liked both characters. Thank god neither was an uke or seme stereotype (like the younger brother in the prequel), they were just two nicely defined characters. Homura the composed and cautious one, and Touji the charming and manipulative. I liked how Homura loosened up in Touji's company. I could understand his fears and wanting to keep the relationship secret, there's gang politics involved after all. Touji's fighting spirits was endearing and his possessiveness saved him from being too perfect.
About the accusations of 'cheating"... There's no cheating.
I would rather have done without the "omg he could die, why I never told him I loved him!" part but it was a very enjoyable read nevertheless.
Recommended.

Don't take me wrong, there were times I wanted to slap either of them. Touji cooks up his brilliant plan (it IS a pretty brilliant plan actually) without consulting Homura and then is surprised that his calls aren't returned? I get that part of his reasons is wanting Homura to do the "stop this marriage!" routine but this is Homura here, and one thing he does understand is gang politics, especially one pertaining a newly-minted clan head. It was exactly a type of scenario a person like Homura would have been preparing himself for, knowing that Touji would be a clan head one day. On the other hand, Homura taking Kyouya to bed after his heart-break? I could understand that he was in an emotional hell and wanted to ease the pain, but using the poor kid like that was pretty low. Well, it's not like I didn't want to occasionally slap Kyouya either because when he decided to pursue his boss who he knew was in love with someone else, he was asking for the heartbreak. I still felt sorry for him at the end. In fact, throughout the story I felt sorry for all three of them but they all managed to pull through.
About the accusations of 'cheating"... There's no cheating.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Touji announces that he's getting married. Homura reacts by cutting his ties with him. At that point, there's no mutual relationship and therefore there's no cheating.
I would rather have done without the "omg he could die, why I never told him I loved him!" part but it was a very enjoyable read nevertheless.

For most of the two volumes comprising Tsumasaki ni Kiss, it’s a ‘bloodless’ yakuza story centred more around Homura and Touji’s business interests and romance, rather than the criminal activities of their rival groups. I couldn’t shake the feeling that the yakuza element was just a label, because it might as well be a normal corporate BL story. And for all that the premise seems rather Romeo & Juliet-ish, even the manga’s political/business intrigue is quickly subsumed by an angsty (and extremely annoying) love triangle.
Homura, despite his usual cold composure, has a mean strike a mile wide. This comes back to bite him in the proverbial when one of the hosts at his club, Kyouya, demands he fulfil his promise of a date for reaching the club’s #1 spot. Kyouya’s sheer perseverance and puppy dog eyes, even in the face of Homura’s constant and cruel rejection, fails to be endearing.

This series is so sweet! So much more so than you would expect a series about yakuza to be. Yet both characters manage to keep their cold calculating sides and soft, vulnerable sides as well. I guess if there's one complaint, I wish they were portrayed a little colder (especially Homura at the end), the way real yakuza are, but all in all, it's a good series.

Wow, this definitely has to be one of my favorite series. I loved it. It had just the right amount of sex and plot for me. And it was about the Yakuza so that was a plus!

i hate mangas where one of the characters cheats, and thats the case in this one. poor touji was even willing to forgive him after he cheated, i really hated the uke he not only hurt touji but also the other guy that he slept with, its too bad the rest of the story was sweet.
someone said that Homura was "forced" to date the guy he slept with and thats not true no one forces you to do anything you dont want to do, he had two choices and he chose to sleep with this guy and betray his his boyfriend. and he didnt just "date" him as the other person said he slept with this guy, i felt so bad for Touji because he truly loves Homura and he Homura even said he was sleeping with the other guy as revenge, so he wasnt forced to do anything...
