Description
From SuBLime

Miki Terayama saved Teru from getting roughed up by some punks. They’re both in love with other guys, but one thing leads to another, and they’re fooling around. Teru acts like a stray dog that hasn’t been fed in ten days. He consumes Miki’s love quick and rough, and that can be quite a pain in the butt!

Emotional without Corniness

I've been avoiding this one for a while because of the artstyle. What a mistake! The art is different, than the one you get reading the usual "prettyboy" yaoi, but it is in this case the art MUST be different, or else the whole story wouldn't come across right. My was this a nice read; it got me all teary eyed, but without being corny!!!

This was one of the first serious yaoi mangas i read, i also consider it to be one of the best i've read. First of all, the characters are very deep - they are a little bit on the twisted side but not in a bad way, and their relationship with other characters are equally as deep and detailed. The art, as expected from this mangaka is just excellent. As for the story, i enjoyed it thoroughly. It has a few moments where its slow and you wonder where its leading to, but it adds to the suspense and keeps it realistic. I really enjoyed this manga when i first read it as well as later when i re-read it. I would recommend it. Also, the humour *grin* it has some really funny random moments which liven the whole thing up.

Do yourself a favor and treat yourself with this gem. Fall in love with Teru and Miki. Allow yourself to be hurt, moved and suprised by these two amazing characters and their story. And pray you can find volume 2 at a decent price. Enjoy

Wow. I can't say that I've liked the characters in a manga so much. It was tugging on my heart the whole time and although I wish there was more I think the ending was a perfect wrap to the series. READ THIS.

I have read many yaoi mangas before but never have i come across characters where both seme and uke have such strong characteristics. I love that they are both tough guys, they can understand each other perfectly and have a connection that neither one of them can understand. I have to agree with the previous people, the intimate scenes are so HOT!

Amazing

This is my all time favourite story. The story itself is touching, the characters are great, and the way Motoni sensei showed the development of feelings was amazing. Miki's inner thoughts were remarkable way of narrating the story. This is the first manga that brought me to tears, in spite of not being a tragedy. I cried, I laughed, I was touched by all the emotions the MCs felt. The intimacy between Miki ans Chiaki was even greater showed throughout the development of the story. And yea, her art is so damn good, because the sex-scenes were not just two guys having sex. They were so charged with emotions, that made me tremble. Even the nasty dialogues they had during intercourse were meaningful emotionwise. Motoni sensei is a genius! Every word and sentence in her stories carries a deep meaning. I absolutely love this manga. I've read it for five times already, and it's never enough. smile

Realistic emotions and amazing character development

I just finished reading Dog Style by Motoni Modoru and it was perfect.
Weird, broken, wretched, depressing, tragic but also uplifting, magnificent, breathtaking, god damn fucking beautiful and happy kind of perfect.
I haven't read anything this good in ages. All of the characters' back stories, interactions, personal developments and the final resolution wrenched my feelings out by the heart string, beat it to pulp and left gooey remains to melt in a fluffy cloud of bliss. Even the annoying male side characters turned out epically likeable by the end.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
And did I mention that it has a happy ending? Something This Good Can't Have a Happy Ending just went flying out the window, through the stratosphere and over the moon.

I. Am. So. Done.

Breath Taking

Initially i was hesitant upon reading this manga. It seemed boring and the drawing style was more seinen. However after reading further, it evidently improved, with the main characters' relationship developing deeper. The manga focuses chiefly on the two main characters and although there are many side characters, they are quite static. Teru and Miki out stand them, claiming the spotlight with their special bond. I loved the concept of the characters being like stray dogs, always on the run.. it was very refreshing and nice (especially the end) I'm real glad that i didn't stop reading this.

if u ask me yaoi, then this surely the 1st thing on my mind..it's not because it's the 1st yaoi i ever read, in fact i came to this conclusion after reading a LOT of yaoi mangas. The story is simple yet so realistic and have a lot of friendship values in it. It is also funny in a nice way, not stupidly funny and the dialogue is also what you expected from a real life situation. The sex? It's HOT! And the best things is they are real BOYS, not girly or emotional kind of boys. So that's a really really what makes this story interesting. The ending also is unique, but believe me you will end up screaming 'THAT'S IT?'...cuz i definitely want more. So for this is the BEST YAOI i've ever read!

Somebody Let the Dog Out

A stray dog gets a home at the end and that's all one really needs from a story. A struggle between the boundaries of friendship and romantic/sexual love, Motoni displays High School angst within these much older seeming characters (like I'm pretty sure half of them are just 30 years old and stuck in high school or something) in a nostalgia inducing way. Good read, though it did 'run around' a bit.
