NOT ENOUGH CHAPTERS ON THE INTERNET YET!!!

I only picked up this series because it was adverised in almost all the other mangas I was reading, and I am so glad I did. Although the drawing style is awkward at times (although the outfit designs rock), I love this series! I love the fact that Kyouko does actually stumble on her quest for revenge/fame. The characters are so realistic and wordly, not to mention funny. I found myself in the bookstore the other day, staring at the books going "hm, I love that chapter in that volume, but that story continues on into that volume, so I guess I'll get both. But I also love that chapter, and that one, and that one!" Sadly, I did not have enough cash to buy the series, and this is coming from a chronic miser. Read Skip Beat!!

I love this manga. At first I wasn't really interested, because the art didn't look that great.(the image above, hmm xD) But when I read it, the art wasn't that bad, and the story totally blew me away xD hah
No matter, how many times I re-read the manga, it never fails to make me laugh! ^^ probably because of the heroine!

I think all the praise for Skip Beat! that I want to say has been said already, but I have to say, it's one of the funniest mangas I've read. I lost count of how many times I cracked up (especially at the scenes between Ren and Kyouko! -pffffft- C-chicken...! Prince...!) by the 3rd volume, and I just kept wanting more! I'm not too fond of the plot, but the comedy and the great characters keep me going. Ah, Ren. I laugh every time he does his 'gentlemanly smile' with Kyouko in the vicinity. xD

I gave Skip Beat a try after hearing and reading great reviews about it.Here is what I found after reading three plus volumes of it, 1) the plot drags, 2) the comedy is weak and the way the characters are drawn is at times awakard. I was expecting more out of this series after reading the rave reviews. Now, keep in mind I only read three volumes so far. Perhaps, the plot gets much better lets say around volume 10 and on up. But so far from what I read Skip Beat seems boring,

I think I've reread Skip Beat for at least 10x's already. And I still laugh at all those little funny parts, go "yay Kyouko!" for all her great acting scenes ( xD ) , and struggle not to shriek when i see shou. (yes, i know. shou? but, what can i say? i never like main male interests.. although kyouko's more scared of ren...)

the thickness of the plot and the depth of the characters are overall very excellent. I love stories that suck me in. and this has done just that

At first, I was kind of confused by the manga and the style of the mangaka (which is different from what im used to). But as i read on, i find myself laughing out loud. The female lead is actually really lovable. The different situations and actions the character do are hilarious, even though it's a bit unreal. This is one of my favourite series that i just can get tired of.

There is a risk with any 19 volume and ongoing manga that it's going to get stale after a while. The first few volumes of Skip Beat were pretty good, but for a while it didn't look like the story was really going anywhere. Then around volume 9 when the Dark Moon storyline starts things really pick up, and the pace is maintained all the way through what has currently been released.

a rare manga..

I can sum up this manga in one word... wow!
It is so rare now for me to come across a a manga like this. Though I used to like shoujos I got so sick of the same plot over and over again that I almost gave up on the genre. But this is so worth reading! Everything about it, from the story to the characters is very unique and well worth the hours I spent reading.

The characters: Along with Tsukasa (done by the same author), Kyoko is one of my favorite Shoujo heroines. Sure she's into fairies, princesses and has a weird imagination but shes also smart, strong and determined to get what she wants. Whats best about her is that, rather than cry over the guy that dumped her, she's determined to get revenge. However, though she still wants to get even with the guy who dumped her, shes comes to realize that acting is what she truly loves and wants to do. She does it for herself, which is a nice change from other shoujo plots where a girl would go into a career to purely chase another guy.

Ren and Sho: gotta say they both qualify as my favorite heroes! It's ironic since even though they are famous, the mangaka made them so they both exibit personalities different from their true characters. Ren keeps up a 'nice guy' facade, but we occasionally see glimpses of his real character which seem to show his darker side, though I gotta say his fake smiles are hilarious!. Sho (the guy who dumped Kyoko), on the other hand, constantly maintains a 'cool guy' persona, which of course as readers we know is fake. He laughs at weird shows, hates certain foods and secretly listens to the comments of fans to reassure himself of his 'coolness'.

lol. I went longer than I intended, so all I'm gonna say is read it! it is so worth pulling an all nighter for...
