Description
Kyouko Mogami lived solely for her childhood friend Shoutaro "Shou" Fuwa. She follows Shou to Tokyo so that he may realize his dream of becoming a famous singer. When his dream is realized, Kyouko overhears the truth behind his decision to bringing her with him: he was using her as a maid.
Shocked and enraged, Kyouko swears to take revenge by outdoing him in show business. With a new look and a new attitude, she joins LME, the agency where Ren Tsuruga (Shou's rival and the #1 actor of LME) works, in the hopes of achieving her goal of destroying Shou's pride.

What can I say when it all has been said. There is no disappointment in this series. I tried it because the overwhelming majority liked it and for good cause. The combination of story and characters is definitely not to be missed.
i love this manga a lot look in to it if you have the time.
a good manga that drags a lot... i can give this a higher rating if only the mangaka drops unnecessary chapters (about 70% of them). some chapters may be interesting but some are not (boring as a matter of fact). I love kyoko's personality... wish that she isn't that dense though.
At the moment its starting to drag. But its really good. The hero and heroine are awesome. I love Kyoko's focus on what she has to do, its rather refreshing compared to typical idiotic shoujo girls. The best part is her deep-set hatred of Shotaro. I hope he breaks down and cries for her.
It was extremely draggy. The love barely progressed/progresses. One of the frustrating things is the amount of time it takes for the chapters to come out. And so I gave up. I don't have the time or patience. But it was worth reading to the last chapters. I guess. Note: The art creeped me out a bit. Especially the faces.
I'm just waiting for this manga to end...it seems as if Kyoko is nowhere near reaching her goal, and the plot is focusing more on her painstakingly slow relationship with Tsuruga Ren than her quest for revenge against Shou.
I suppose it is still interesting for me to keep reading, but I really do wish things would speed up. Seeing as how slow it is going, however, I think speeding it up may make it seem a bit rushed. Maybe 5 more volumes should do it...?

The whole revenge plot was interesting, but when Kyoko started over thinking how to act out a certain role and these inner soliloquies lasted a few pages... I decided it was time to stop. Kyoko needs a breather.
I like Skip Beat, but the ART! I can't stand the art. Kyoko can change her appearance at will, and the shape of her eyes even change. All the dudes seem to have the same facial shape and broad shoulders, EVERYBODY has tiny heads and really long legs.
This manga is ten years old, and barely any development, and honestly, it drags on for far too long.
I don't even know why I gave it such a good rating. I suppose I just like it for absolutely no reason.

But still pretty reverse-haremy. Like a lot of slow romances, male chars be falling for her and getting infinitely closer to her romantically than her established love interest.
At least in TCP you had this sense of security accompanying the obvious fact that the 2 leads were destined to be together, from a narrative sense, and within the plot itself.

The male lead in Skip Beat is literally creating a love triangle with himself, as he seduces the heroine with his weird and autistic alter ego, making for further emotional turmoil and uncertainty in her feelings.
I used to like this manga. I even bought it.
But i'm getting bored with it.
The jokes are quite old, they aren't very funny to me anymore
the progress is slow - not just romance, pretty much everything is slow. The filler is everywhere and I don't like those fillers. I find they're quite stupid and ridiculous. There's not so much of acting in this manga. Very little. This story involves so much on "stupidity" of Kyouko and the relationship which doesn't go anywhere for now and who knows will between Ren & Sho & Kyouko.
Pretty much, i got tired of it.
Maybe i'll consider to re-read when it's done.
Otherwise, a big NO for now!
