I like it, except for one major complaint. I have a hell of a time telling the difference between the guys in the series. Many of them look so similar that I get them mixed up easily.

Like some people have already stated, Hatsukoi Limited share some distinctive traits with Salad Days. At this point, I feel that it is too early to tell exactly what the manga is going develop into but I'm currently enjoying it.

I was dissapointed in school rumble but really like this. So forget the comment the guy below me wrote. This story is not about getting into a relationship or anything. It's a story about their first love, so you can expect that no relationship are progressed.
If you like salad days, then you'll like this.

This one really starts to look like School Rumble...
and that means it will drag with a set of pointless
relationships with no progress for several chapters/volumes...

If you were dissapointed with School Rumble then you can
really look for another better series.

Not so good

I was mildly interested after the first chapter, but the subsequent chapters were all disappointing. After Ayumi's story, which ended fairly ironically, the manga jumps from one uninspired perverted or half-witted male character after another, with the occasional shallow female character thrown in - for example, the chapter starring the girl with a brother complex

Somehow, I slowly realized that Kawashita Mizuki-sensei want to make Hatsukoi Limited like School Rumble. All the characters are involved in triangle love. Good idea, but I don't hope its end suck like Ichigo 100%

so far, it just seems like every chapter or two are about a new character being introduced. they all link to each other in some way.
there isn't much to the plot as a whole right now, but im liking it.

Ever read Salad Days by Inokuma Shinobu?

HL is somewhat similar to it; except Salad Days is more "one-shot"y, and provides a conclusionary end per arc.

Now, this here Hatsukoi Limited is NOT what you'd really call a collection of one-shots, as you don't get a conclusive ending per chapter; in fact, in later chapters, it becomes apparent that HL is definitely a series, where there is progression in each existing relationship (although, so far, some relationships have yet to progress).

However, it shares a similar trait with Salad Days: romance of different sorts in a single environment. In fact, Kawashita Mizuki takes a step further by making every featured character connected with each other in one way or another, add the fact that love triangles root from this so called connection.

This is a fresh choice for romance-seekers out there. Me? I'll give this a ten since THIS IS my cup of coffee.

When I first saw this series I was expecting a generic harem series like Ichigo 100% but instead the story switches from character to character and back again through out the series making it feel fresh.

Almost every manga starts off slow... you can't expect the mangaka to kick off the story with a complicated and comprehensive plot. Right now, these chapters are probably just introductions to the characters. I'm sure the plot will get deeper as the story progresses. My rule when reading manga is read the first 5 volumes before throwing it away... If the plot doesn't get any better in 5 volumes, it probably won't get better.
