Description
This is a story about two friends, from nearly the beginning to almost the end of their lives, who happen to love each other.
Tatsuya and Junichi are in 5th grade and their music teacher is a pedophile. One day the music teacher has a request for Yumi, a girl who uses him to get expensive gifts. He wants her to get Tatsuya into the music room so he can be with him. Junichi recently confessed his feelings for Yumi and she decides to use him as bait to get Tatsuya to go to the music room. Junichi and Tatsuya's future does not look good...

Damm!! *Clears tears which get soon replace by new once* This is why i hate this kind of endings! I really love this manga! its gona take me a while to get over this ending but im happy i read it. A Happy Yet San Ending its good once in a while....
To anyone that think this manga is cliché or convenient, then I don't think you've read the manga or understood the depths of it. Or maybe you just don't understand life 
This manga was bloody brilliant! I could feel myself tearing up every couple of chapters and after the last chapter I was completely sobbing. It's not like this manga was sad, but it was so happy and heartwarming that you couldn't help but be moved by the simplicity of it all! It really explores the thin line between friendship and love.... definitely recommended to any reader

God damn i cried for the whole of the last chapter... ive never gotten this emotional over a manga before, not ever. I cant stop crying, even though i know its really a happy ending....
And this isnt the only time i cried during this series, around chapter 12 when they separated i cried at the cruelty of it, and then again in chapter 16. I have never cried so much for a manga before, this is only about the fourth manga that has made me cry at all, but the last chapter had me sobbing.
This is a wonderful story, full of drama and heart break but also hope and perseverence and it has a happy ending for those concerned. I'm not sure i could read this again though, not for a while at least, im really heart broken.
Only think i hate about this manga is the pedo who go away with it twice (that we know of!) and never received any sort of divine punishment. I was hoping he'd get run over or something lol.

how come a manga is considered realistic when people act like jerks and betray people that love them and treat them like crap
not everyone cheats, sure some people choose to do that but not everyone would throw away to have pity sex with someone else.
not everyone cheats, sure some people choose to do that but not everyone would throw away to have pity sex with someone else.OMG..i read all the comments...and you guys are correct..it deserves a comment because it really is the BEST manga i have ever read...it's so REAL that you really really feel the emotions of the character...with those simple words the authors used, you realize later tears fall from your eyes and then you will feel great about it not because it's sad or happy but because ITS REAL....i'm so dumb that i only read it yesterday.actually i read it 10pm and i finish it around 2am..OMG...i cannot express the words that i'm feeling right now....i'm sorry but i don't know how to make the spoiler thing so forgive me if i may say something that will make others feel bad..so here we go..

When I die i want to become like you. Will you come for me? Three years of living alone is along time for an old person" you see TATSUYA died at the age of 80 and JUNICHI of course continues to live 3 years after that...after i read that..OMG..my eyes can't stand it anymore and i start crying....i hope i can find someone like JUNICHI or TATSUYA.though I lack with social skills that's why i don't have a close friend with me which i can share my true feelings and identity..but still i hope and will try my best to live my life to the fullest,and i will try my best also to be happy to whatsoever i chose my life will be just like them..the main character really gives me HOPE and inspires me to be the best of what i am right now...besides just like what they said...HOW LONG IS ONE LIFE?...
thanks for the hardwork of the authors and the supporters...i only downloaded the copy of this manga but i do promise that i buy the original..because it DESERVES to be...thanks again for inspiring us and giving us HOPE...thanks...

This is an amazing (yaoi) story about the entire life (almost) of 2 guys. From when they are in 5th grade till one of them is 83 years old.
The art isn't that good at the beginning but it gets better.
I really liked the story because it shows many troubles and happy times you can have in life so it's not exaggerated, but realistic. The story was sweet, sad and funny. You could really imagine other people in some of the situations that are presented in this manga.
This story helped me realize that life goes by fast, so you need to cherish the good moments and live life to its fullest, with no regrets; not the way I'm living mine.
So if you want to read a manga with a great life lesson, this would be the one. I can tell because it really got to me.

It was great. I hadn't expected it from the cover or from the first chapter, but after the second I knew I would read it till the end. I cried in some moments together with the characters and I was afraid to finish it.
I don't really ever leave comments but I believe this one deserves a comment. Complex is a great story! It is in my top two and I have read a lot. The only other story that I truthfully love more is NANA. The art at times looks a little messy but it fits the characters. The first chapter horrified me but its not like that would never be a real situtation. I have to say this made me cry (embarrising yes...but ture) xD Its not sad tears though like NANA hahahaha its was such a cute and a realistic story.

I think the way Tatsuya explained things to gakkun(sp?) was one of the best parts. The portral of life's choices and and love were what made this story. The fact that everything could crumble with just one wrong choice. Or that it is hard to know the differnece between friendship and love.
Not only that but the ending was supurb. Though people got upset that Tatsuya's son and Gakkun(sp?) didn't get together, I think it was the right choice. I also like the cute ending of how "little Tatsuya" came for Shinozaki when it was his time to go; it was adorable.

this manga is very different from yaoi mangas i usually read. But this manga is just amazing.. Really amazing, and i love Manda Ringo-sensei for creating such a masterpiece... What i absolutely love about is the story, the art, and the ending. Especially the ending. The ending is just about perfect... The sadness, the happiness... I really love that part....

I really wished this was licensed so that I could buy it. It has been the only manga to ever make me cry. It gets a little melodramatic around the middle with Tatsuya and his marriage but on a whole it is an amazing manga. There is really no one from the main cast that is a 'villain' or who can be considered bad, not Tatsuya or his wife, Jun, Kenta or Masabu-- they all make mistakes and you can sympathise with everyone. I've really gained something from reading this manga, and I think you will get something out of it too. Please don't miss this.
