When I first heard about it I was an avatar fan and avatar had ended and I didn't want to watch it.my friends said it was good so I decided to watch it but I started from shippuuden season 6 .I didn't understand anything at first but I was soon absorbed into the characters ,plot and everything especially sasuke.I tried reading the manga but it isn't m thing so I only watch the anime which I love but I'm generally a shounen fan.this anime was my first and it's the anime that drew me into the world of anime and manga when I got my first manga book.naruto shippuden manga. It's like the father of all mangas and to me it's the most popular followed b bleach.

It has some amazingly interesting characters, like Itachi, but also lots of ridiculous plot and dialogue. It's shounen after all. But for too extended and naive battles I enjoyed it.

Kishimoto is a Good Mangaka...

I'm quite convinced that Kishimoto is a really skillful mangaka, but somethings are like restraints to him, like the shounen genre itself. It's quite common to see people complaining about this manga, but they can't tell why they don't stop reading it. I'd guess it's because Kishimoto can hold their attentions and make they wonder "what'll happen next?". They just don't realize it.

Naruto is a manga that probably makes WSJ earn a lot of money and that's why it keeps going for a long time. But I'm quite amazed by the fact that even being a big series, it didn't lost its coherence up to now, something that's really common to shounen series.

Naruto is a cliche manga? Of course it's cliche! Look at the magazine it's published! It's meant to be read by people who want to see cliche shounen! Its target public are teenagers, not young adults who have read a lot of other shounens in their lives!

In general, the art is good (for a weekly series, it's awesome), the plot and pace are steady and it's really addicting depending on your taste.

Still one of my favorite

Regardless of the flaw of some major characters and sometimes repetitive fighting skills, I' still religiously follow every new chapter of Naruto. Maybe because I like the clip hanger that Masashi Kishimoto put on every chapter or how he manages to make the character grow in mind and body as the series progresses.

Love it! Still my favorite series to read and reread thorughout time

At first, when I saw my friends read this series, I'll be honest with ya. I didn't care about it one bit. But when my sister told me that I had to record it for her when the anime first came on in the US I was annoyed, for I didn't find it interesting at all to read. Then after watching the very first episode, My heart and soul was devoted to the series, and I wanted to get everything from it. The cards, the video games, the manga, everything. That when I first started reading the rest and started the manga, and I loved everything about it. The characters which Naruto was my favorite cause he was someone I could relate to when i was know. Sasuke the rival/Best friend, and many other characters that are unique and awesome in their own way like Hinata Hyuuga and such. The storyline was great as the slow ended in part 1. But then continue to part 2. I have to agree with some people about the Sasuke thing but as Hinaru77 said which I did look up and confirm, that without Sasuke, kishimoto would not have made this story so long to be begin with. Plus there were a lot fight then devleopment that I think that need to be there. The author kishimoto, had an older, pliot story about the main character, Naruto, being a demon instead of ninja, for he didn't really like the way of the japanese traditional on the ninja socitey and the use of the hand signs. So the author tried to make his own creation as a "This is the ninja world of Naruto Uzumaki, and it turned out quite well, for it become a popular hit in japan. Kishimoto tried his best to make the storyline unique as the main character, Naruto, tries and help to change many people throughtout the series adn still does now. He really is the knuckle head ninja that has the magical words that seem so simple yet very unique, as he goes through every mission, very fight and very course to be the next hokage. Now that we're it's end, there is now a war that must be done that Naruto must fight for. You may think it uncool to have a sixteen year old fight in a war, but hey that's how it was back then as kishi had said the in war, loved ones die, people get killed, people lose their home. etc as he was told by his grandmother that long ago of the terrible stories they had in WW2. So now that I'm a least a decade in the series and still am devoted to. Now that I know that kishimoto is putting this series into his climax, it kind of makes me sad. I wish that he would continue with it, just not with Naruto trying to bring back Sasuke all the time and actually have everyone fight together as a team, with new powers and such. Now as I read up to chapter 585, the author just keeps getting better and better with the plot, now that it's coming to an end with it's funny, colleging roles, that this series had played for the last 12 years of writing. I hope that he'll do a squeal with the next generation of Naruto or something like that. But untill the very end, recommend that you watch it or read it.

Was and STILL is a great manga

I remeber reading this when I was very young and it took a hold on me. This story plot was great, the teamwork was awesome and the fights were good as well. I love part one all the wayt till the end, where jouney's to become stronger. Part 2 I read and knew what was going to, and now even now, i'm still reading the series. Kishimoto says that he's finally bringing the series down, but when Naruto really ends, I'll will cry. I wish it wil go on and be awesome, just like one piece but Kishimoto once said, that if he didn't have Sasuke who is Naruto's rival in the series, this story would have ended in ten weeks. lol. So i can now see we Sasuke is so important in part 2. Plus because he is the only one that Naruto hasn't ben able to change. But all the characters are amazing and awesome, including Sakura, Hinata, Rock lee, Kakashi, and is still consider one of the best series of all time. So i'll and many other readers should just read it all the the end, cause the series, is coming to it end soon, very soon.

It's a four-year-old's idea of what war looks like

What really killed this for me is the war. I suffered through bad ideas and utterly unnecessary flashbacks and weird raps for Naruto until it becomes offensive to read. The portrayal of war in Naruto has been facile and it should not have even touched that subject. Wars are never clear cut good vs. evil because both sides believe they are right, the leaders as well as the people on the battlefield, and that's some really stellar propaganda at work. And what about the civilian side of things? The tragedy side of things? Kishimoto just uses it as an excuse to show moves and choreograph battles and get Naruto to train. He doesn't even have the decency to write strategies and tactics to make things interesting, if he's willing to abandon humanistic values. I remember the village leaders' convention, all bravado with the drama of a Next Top Model panel. Before anybody goes to war, they actually do their best to avoid going to war, even if they want to conquer they demand surrender first. Get it Kishinoto? That's why you should just have stuck to what you know.

Was a Great Manga

Naruto of course is a iconic manga. The most popular manga in Japan and around the world. The plot was captivating and AMAZING when I first came to "Naruto". "Naruto" was a masterpiece to me because the plot was really different and the imagination the author has to think of to keep the manga great was amazing.

Soon Shippudden came and it was great at the beginning but like many of the people said, things started to go downhill. The story is not interesting as "Naruto" because now the story is all about Naruto and Sasuke. It saddens me that now the show only revolves around Naruto and Sasuke because what kept it interesting were the other ninja's and it sucks that now they are weaklings that can't even compare to "those" character.

I just feel like the author lost his touch and imagination because now he is just dragging out his manga for every last penny so that's why I stop reading Naruto found out about his mother. I was basically skimming the manga now because things just were not interesting as the Chunnin Exam Arc. The best rating I could give it is 8/10 just because of the original story.

Very good manga in its early part but...

I like the first 20 volumes but as the series dragged on, the quality decreased as well. New plots keep pop up but many of them don't fit well with the original story thus making it seems a ragged piece of cloth. The fights' quality went down too. In early part most of characters, especially Naruto, have only a limited set of techniques and have to use their brains to maximize their abilities. That is what make their fights interesting to watch. But in later parts, Naruto keeps getting new techies thus previous abilities were rendered useless.

naruto marathon

edit:
just finished a naruto marathon from 1st chapter to the 700. all i can say toward the end everybody and their dog seems to have super power, and sooooo many revelations i can barely keep up. i really really want to know whether the final boss is a demon, a god, an alien or what. thats the whole WTF moment there when these two kids decide to kill a goddess and succeed. i think theres a myth somewhere about this kind of goddess, who knows?

still, i enjoy it though it kinda jump the shark toward the end. a great run, now i want to see the mafia manga that kishimoto said 'the best manga he ever draw'.

end edit

that's the only way you will be able to enjoy this manga. i just finished my 2 days naruto marathon from the first chapter to the latest 582 chapter. i had had read naruto before until the chuunin exam but dropped this. but now reading this in complete block make the reading better. i am actually quite regretful i dont wait until this manga finish but i got spoilered massively so that's why i read this. anyway, i really do recommend people to read naruto until after it is finish. this is because the fight can get pretty long winded and the excitement of waiting for new chapters will only turn to fatigue, then boredom then you will just drop this manga. however, reading this in one go make the excitement propel you to continue to read and thus you can see the overall plot without getting confused, especially with the shitload of characters.

i do get quite surprised with naruto because i thought it is just a long winding battle manga but actually it is very well written. every technique is grounded in stable rules, he dont just take them out of his ass. there is overarching plot that tie the past to present quite beautifully. the history and the landscape is all meticulously planned out. there is no wasted chapter at all, every mission serve a purpose to progress the plot, or it will tie to the future. i really am just amazed.

the characters are also very interesting and likeable. naruto as a main character dont fail at all. personally i do not like stupid but over determined over protective character, but somehow naruto dont get across too annoying. i hate his stalker tendency with sasuke, but i guess it's okay for the plot. people had been hating on sakura but i do not think she is useless, but her obsession with sasuke is baffling. i also completely empathized with sasuke. i love almost all the characters that have been introduced here, and i love the way that even though they are enemy, the reader and the characters do not hate them.

the art is also the cornerstone of this series. every character have distinguishable face, i can easily identified them. i also can even remember their name even with the number of characters because they have very strong identity. they do not just have differing hair style, but their own personality and physical make up. the art is very simple and clear with no unnecessary lines, and it is perfect in its simplicity. it is not beautiful and obstruct the flow of the story but carry the story by presenting it to the reader in easy to digest way.

the fights is also something enjoyable. i read quite a few of battle manga already, but naruto is one of the best. i like the clarity of the fight, i can follow its progression, there is rules and thoughts behind the fight and most of all it is interesting. d gray man for example, have beautiful art but i cant understand the chaotic fight that make me just skip them. one piece have interesting powers but theres no rules in it that anything can happen, the world is not stable. but naruto's universe is stable with foundation, that's why i love the fights.

all in all, i really love this manga and i recommend this to anyone who love a series with good plot, strong cast of characters, great fights and most of all enjoyable story.
