It is for me a... 10! It felt like it could be life.

A difficult subject with parts that made me say... definitely manga... but mostly I cried, enjoyed the story and saw life amongst the pages. I didn't like the opening so much, but by the time the end came I found I enjoyed the ride immensely. I, unlike others, enjoyed the ending and felt it was what those particular characters would have thought. I myself have thought such things, so I can understand.
There were characters that I thought could have been left out, but then there are people in my life I want left out. There are always people in life that make either a negative impact or float around the edges. These characters in this story, made this story more believable because they did float on the edges.
All in all, I will probably read this again, and I don't read many things a second time.

Good story...terrible ending.

It has its good parts and it makes a good point about those who have given birth alone and those who have been victims of rape, and those who have never had a chance to hold their children. The problem is, that you think that the characters are in love, when in fact they are thinking about the day they will have to part which completely ruins the romantic part of the story. It has a few cute parts but then it feels like it was all for nothing once you read the ending part. You may like the beginning as I did, but prepare yourself for a ending of disappointment.

I just had to comment on this manga and all of this is my opinion, meaning I might be wrong. Anyway, The artwork and storyline was great and each character's personality fitted correctly in their role during the plot. However, I tried not to give any spoilers, and I don't know if I'm doing it, but the ending felt like it was "rushed" or left "opened". It just mainly focused on the past and the relationship (which didn't progress much). But, this was a good story to read, and I recommend it for people who has an unforgettable past that DON"T want it affects your new start of life (and relationship).

I'm not sure how I feel about this manga.
I mean, it was a bit too angsty for me. I like to empathize with the characters rather than sympathize.
What I mean when I say this is that I like to really get in the characters head and feel their pain. But with Bitter Virgin, it was almost like "Poor her, this and this and this happened!" Within the first chapter. It just was introduced so fast, that it sort of repelled me.
I think that this is certainly a manga that many shoujo-lovers would devour, especially if you're into angsty sort of stuff.
However, it wasn't for me.

Plot or not?

On my first reading, I was more taken by the nature of the issues presented. Rape, abortion and stillbirth are issues that are not taken lightly, and I have not seen many manga that deal with them greatly, especially the last one. Perhaps it's because I'm male, but I couldn't really empathize with their grief (I was more horrified than anything else), and I ended up not shedding a single tear - did a lot of soul-searching though.

Second time through, I paid a little more attention to the plot, and found the stillbirth issue rather... separated from the rest of the plot, as if it was there simply for its own sake. Didn't detract from its power or tragedy though.

The ending... was open, I liked it. Certainly unique, but the story itself left a few questions. Maybe those will be addressed in the future... hopefully.

It's a good work. Certainly provoking, almost certainly tear-jerking. If things had been just a bit different, I would have shed a few. As it was, I wish I had - it's that kind of literature that makes you want to.

i liked it but i have one gripe, their attitude at the end with the whole till someone else thing ruined it for me. if they had of thought something else at the end it would of been so much better.

story was different, art was good, enjoyable read, only got one gripe which makes it a 8 for me.

Not too bad

It starts out good, and emotional and unpredictable. It worth the read, especially considering they don't dwell too much on the bad. And there are some cute and funny parts mixed in as well. However, I personally found the ending killed it. It was far too rushed for my liking and it ruined whatever lasting memory I would hope to have

Not My Cup of Tea

This personally was not my cup of tea. Rape is always a serious and emotional subject. Yet I found myself growing bored within the first few chapters.

Decent

would be rated 1 point higher if not for the very last page...anyway...

I found the idea behind the manga better then the final product. Certainly a difficult subject matter to handle, it captured the emotions of fear and pain well. The shining point of this series is how the subject matter is handled and Aikawa's character. Aikawa alone supports this series with her range of emotions and believable fears. The rest of the team just seems as if theyre along for the ride, with some "development" chucked in at odd times with no real reason. Story was decent, about what you would expect from any "overcome for romance" series.

In all...Aikawa gives this series a high rating, as she alone makes this series well worth the read

The thing about this manga is that it was extremely close and personal to the author because she had a stillbirth and writing the manga would revive old wounds like aikawa its not her fault. This is a really good manga and emo at all. I liked it alot.
