love it

I really love this series. This is my first time reading a manhua, and I'm pleased to say that I wasn't disappointed. At first, I thought this was such a rip-off of Skip Beat! but although there are some very similar points, The One is amazing on its own. Lele is such a diverse character. She's innocent, but not really, and she's funny and carefree, but she has also gone through a lot of stuff. I love the realationship between Eros and Lele.

The only bad thing I would say about this is that it how fast she rises to being a top model is unrealistic. But that can be forgiven. wink

On the subject of comparing mangas/manhuas/manhwas I really don't care what the name is; it's basically still the same medium. I will say that I love Nicky Lee's style of drawing though! It shows so much emotion and sensuality. Definitely a must read!

I'm actually shocked at how good it turned out. The first two volumes were boring but after that things really picked up in the story. This is the kind of manga you read on a rainy day with a hot cup of tea. I was drawn into the back story of Angus and Eros they both seem mysterious. Each brother has a scared past that makes the main female character empathic to there needs. I don't know who she'll chose in the end but a part of me hopes it's Angus. Then again Eros needs her the most...

as i have expected, most comments would do the comparing thing to other manga, not just manga but famous ones too. certainly, i would love to(compare) but having this manhua giving me a 'similar' feel to a manga i have REALLY enjoyed is something that makes it great. people can never help but compare but i'd say it's one very good manhua. *thumbs up*

I think this is a really great manhua. Although it's similar in the aspect on the entertainment industry to Skip Beat and Nana, this manhua is still different and fresh. I mean there's tons of mangas that are based in the entertainment industry. Plus, this story focuses on modeling, not at all on acting or singing and stuff. I think the art is really good too. The too-big-eyes-for-face and typical expressions on girls in shoujo mangas kind of got boring to me, and this different style of art is fresh and interesting. Although in the beginning Lele was sort of being over-silly, the story gets more twisted and I really like how the characters have backgrounds that are very unpredictable... anyway, I hope the story doesn't get boring. (I find this story a lot like Ingenuo for some reason, though... even if Ingenuo is on photography, some parts of The One is a lot like Ingenuo.)

Wow I actually really like this Manhua It was really a shocker how good this has turned out. It really does have a Paradise Kiss feel to it, and the relationship is sort of like that of Skip Beat with Ren and Kyoko.
However, Manhua is different from Japanese Manga, and your comparing it to something thats not even in its category. This manga should be campared to its own Manhua such as Ingenuo.
Well with all the controversy on this Manhua its still very awesome. Im rooting for Eros in the end!!

I'll probably keep up with this series, but it wasn't really that amazing. To me, the story felt like a mix of Skip beat, Nana, and Paradise Kiss which didn't feel really original, especially character design and art.

So its a meh manga to me. probably read it when there's no other mangas left to read.

MANHUA. So many comments are reviewing this as if it were a manga, or even a manhwa. All three styles have distinctly different aspects and details to them. This is a MANHUA. And a very good one, at that!

I would have to agree with some comments. This manhwa, unlike skip beat, focuses more on the romance part of the story. Thus, I think it's inappropriate for both stories to be compared. It's like comparing a cake to a bacon.

I honestly don't understand why some people are irritated with the main heroine. I'm more irritated with shoujo style characters who are weak, vulnerable, and are simply idiotic. Lele, may at times be a cry baby but in a cute way. She's a gullible character but not so gullible that she will allow herself to be raped or beaten up. She does stand up for herself and her beliefs.

I've read the latest story of The One and I have never felt bored with it (maybe it's also because of the humor in the stories). I actually look forward to the development of romance in the story. I look forward to knowing the twins' past. I look forward to how Lele will mature as a person and as a model.

Also, people shouldn't compare this manhwa to how mangas are drawn. The characters are not drawn similar to mangas where eyes are humongous. Their more closely similar to how human figures are drawn. Honestly, I prefer how the characters are drawn in this manhwa. It's more mature. Of course the manhwa may seem badly drawn for others because their comparing it to mangas which has a different drawing style. I personally think it's drawn quite nicely. It's detailed. The characters' eyes are expressive.

I am looking for well drawn mature romance mangas. And I havn't found many out there. I am thoroughly enjoying this manga. The plot is well drafted and the story is modern, dealing with modelling and the fashion industry. All other aspects like humour, supporting characters and plot are well balanced and sufficient to support the romance between Lele & Eros. That is the highlight of the manga, as far as I am concerned. Both characters are magnetic and charasmatic.
Even though a new release takes about 2 months, it is still worth it for me smile

it's good, but it's not one of the best i've read. at a few times i've been "what?" simply because some actions are sometimes cut short while others are elongated needlessly. overall, i would recommend this as a great read.
