There is just one thing that I hate in this: Kyoko.... She just too stupid. A child would understand what happening between her and Ren. Many people are saying about the incest plot, well I don't see it as a problem because it is the character that both of them are playing,but it is MY opinion. Other than that I really like this manga, I just don't want it to be too long or it will be starting being boring.

As of chapter 190 i DROPPED this manga

Plot is boring, it moves at a snail's pace...Characters are uninteresting and shallow...Some arcs feel so draggy....Oh and the classic Shoujo Inter-Monologues are overplayed to the extent of they use up a whole chapter for it....Kyouko *Thinking* Ren *Thinking* Sho *Thinking* /Chapter Over

I bet this manga won't ever finish and this author will die of old age but the MC won't still be having a steady relationship with anyone

I Don't recommend this Manga to anyone....read something better and don't bother coz it's just a Waste of time

This is a very fun shoujo... except its a shonen version of a shoujo that is neverending. I currently have this on my on hold list. The day I find that the series has ended I will pick it up again and finish it in one go!

I read this after I finished Tokyo Crazy Paradise and found out that the same mangaka started a completely different story in Skip Beat. Honestly TCP is 100000x better than Skip Beat because it's way funnier, has better pacing, lots of great action and some romance. Sad to say, but Skip Beat really falls short in all these categories.

This manga is just WAY TOO LONG and the pacing is WAY TOO SLOW. It takes forever and ever to finish one arc that I just lost interest. Once the incest siblings arc started, I completely dropped this manga. There's really no plot because the initial one about Kyoko getting revenge on Sho somehow just got lost in translation. The author tried to add some interesting past to Ren....well, it sure didn't pique my interest.

This manga isn't my cup of tea. It's way too draggy and the story doesn't move forward AT ALL. Like Chelsi889 said, it's stuck in limbo. It's just stuck, period. I don't recommend this manga at all.

So how creepy is the incest vibe? I mean really, there's one-time teacher/student roleplay and then there's extended brother/sister roleplay.

Other than that Skip Beat! has gotten so boring too. It's the nth time Kyoko is irrationally afraid of pissing Ren off again. What's really frustrating is that there has been no progression in their relationship for such a long time. The new romantic rivals for both Ren and Kyoko are unnecessary and uninteresting.

Skip Beat! has generally been beyond reproach from volume 1 to volume 21 though.

Really, I can't stress enough how amazing I think this ongoing (as of this writing) manga is. It's funny, dramatic, tense, happy, sad, romantic... well, it's a lot of things.

I've always been a fan of Nakamura, starting with her work Tokyo Crazy Paradise. The heroines are strong-willed and independent, not mindless dolls that fall in love with the first guy to sneer in their direction (but, I guess this is the case with Mogami at the beginning). I love all the little turns the plot takes, the adventures that Mogami goes on to discover herself and her acting ability, and her ongoing struggle to love again.

I admit that sometimes there are points where it seems to drag, but in most manga, there always is a point of stagnation. Despite this small flaw, I recommend this manga to both the manga layman and the avid reader.

And after the first time through, read it again while you wait for the updates.

Because it is worth the wait.

I'm a fan of looooong manga. I mean, I follow One piece, Bleach and Fairy Tail. Can't you believe how many worth of page is that? Anyway, I really like long manga. So I don't have any problem with this.

Anyway, it's not boring on each chapter, which is very surprising in a SHOUJO MANGA (Expect Shounen to not have a single boring chapter on it) It have a story on each chapter which is very entertaining you wouldn't knew you already read 100 chapters. It's just so great.

probably the most best manga ive ever read. i started when there was only about 20 chapters and now its on 199 and it still keeps me on edge. WAITING FOR IT IS SO URGH cause you just want next chapter right away but that just goes to show how amazing it is

How is it after reading nearly 200 chapters, that it barely feels like I've read 20? No the chapters aren't short, but there just so good and exciting and heart stopping that you want more and more! Kyouko you make my heart beat like doki doki! And Ren................ Kyaaaaaaaaaaa!! I really love this series it's got a great story, likeable heroine and great cliffhangers and it's really funny too!

So normally I find shoujo that's been going on for over several years to be just plain bad. Usually the story becomes boring and draggy, the art decline, characters get irritating... and yet... and yet... SKIP BEAT HAS MANAGED TO KEEP MY ATTENTION!

Despite how long it has been going on, it doesn't feel like it's been dragging, I feel like there's so much potential in the story even after 100 chapters. I also don't feel like the mangaka has given up on her own manga, it seems as if she still enjoys it after working on it for over ten years. I'm thoroughly impressed by this manga.
The characters are great, they're all fun and consistent. They remain themselves and it's great to watch them grow. The story? The story is still fabulous, I especially love the comedy that is provided in this series, keeps me laughing all the time. Though some people may complain the romance is a bit slow, for some odd reason I don't mind it! I accepted that romance isn't the central focus of this manga, it has more to do with the characters and their dilemmas. Romance is just the extra sweet glaze over what is already good, and eventually the romance will happen, but before then the mangaka has shown us that the characters still have lots of room to grow to be able to fully develop their love. I for one, will continue to support this series and I recommend it to anyone who wants a great read.
