I found out about Kodomo no Jikan through tvtropes, when I was browsing the website one bored summer day. I'm not into lolicon, and I thought that the series was more like a gag comedy with tons of fanservice and dick jokes. And for a while, that's what it was. So at first, I thought that it was funny....then sickening....then interesting....and then sickening. The first couple of volumes didn't really have a story, and it was mostly just overly detailed loli pics of a bunch little, little girls in disturbingly sexual situations. *Disturbingly*. But I kept reading on recommendations that it "gets better". There's "character development" and the story "comes together". And they were right, it does.

And it was horrifying. I understand that this is a "love" story, but it's not cute or touching or anything like that. Think about it. Throughout the entire manga series, Rin Kokonoe goes about doing things like pulling her panties down and making references to her teacher's dick, putting phallic symbols in her mouth, forcing her teacher to touch her sexually, making references to his sex life, etc etc. Dear god, she's NOT EVEN A TEENAGER. And what's worse is that instead of her teacher reporting her IMMEDIATELY, he simply GOES ALONG WITH IT, on the pretense that he's "trying to help her". He might reject to her actions and pretend to not like them, but he simply allows her to continue sexually harassing him. What the actual fuck? If he wants to help his student, he needs to report her and have her checked out by a child psychiatrist. He needs to talk to the other students and faculty about her behavior. He should have stopped that shit from day ONE.

And it gets "worse". He actually admits in the later volumes that he's "fallen in love with her". With his 9 or so year old grade student. And then starts spewing some bullshit that he fell in love with her because of "who she is" and not her "Age" which means that he's not a pedophile. That's how he rationalizes his feelings for a 9 year old girl. Because apparently, Rin, at 9 years old, has such a stunning personality (never mind her tendency to act like a desperate whore) that he can look past her tiny age and body.....and then the next couple of pages will feature pictures of Rin in very sexual situations, for the sake of fanservice. What the shit.

TL;DR, Don't read it. Seriously. It's just softcore porn and a stupid and fake relationship between a little girl and her 20 something teacher who ends up falling in love with her.

At first 4 or 5 volumes, this manga show promise, good sight of storyline/drama but after some disgusting chapter even hardcore fan who buy figurines & LE manga and even translated it himself decide to stop follow it, pity but i can understand him.

However if you are in to lolicon, like manga is especially for you.

I also cannot take this seriously. She is way too young so i cant or maybe can't allow myself to take this manga seriously. I'm very open minded but this i just cant read.

Here is a encyclopedia dramatica quote to sum up my feelings: "Kodomo no Jikan (translation: "A Child's Time") is a spank-fest followed religiously by the likes of respectable gentlemen who lurk on 4chan and 2chan, parading itself around as a proper anime and manga series." Their article is beyond good. Banned on tvtropes, rejected for publishing in America and a lolicon porn-group translated it... It made me nauseous while reading and i just looked at it because the scandal around it it. The ending is further just wrong and immoral/illegal so stay away as the manga is just child porn and not a drama/romance at all. Read the reviewed Naisho no Tsubomi (8/10) instead.

And something i wrote in a MU forum: XXX and XXX are right an all counts (Usagi Drop's second half isn't the best but hardly "pedo") and Miman Renai (8/10) is how you do it. Comic High! is secondly infamous for printing out of control borderline-H so look them up if you dare and the (female) author (actually nothing special in the loli/hentai market) drew only fanservice nonsense before/after. Love it, hate it or whatever but can we please bury this now as there is even a competitor i won't name that is making the rounds but this time i learned to run for the hills.
I work with children at my library near daily so if someone forced the manga on me now i would have a total meltdown and it is the 3rd worst long form non-porn publication to me. Read/watch Lolita to see how to do such a story the right way and i never had problem with the sex/rape scenes in Bersek, Suicide Island, Wolfsmund and so on towards sometimes even younger children so i may be all sorts of thing but a prude i am not.

so fucking gross im sorry anything that belittles rape, incest, smut, and relationships between grown men and fucking elementary school kids is disgusting i dont care if the plot is george lucas worthy thats fowl, go read it, i dont care im open minded its just im my opinion you would have to pay me to read that filthy shit
