Initially, I didn't want to read this because the art style is 100% not my taste.. but the story and characters were so good that I now adore the way that this was drawn. This style is so memorable and pops out among other manga. The story has everything from comedy to action to drama, and the characters are very well written. I can't ask for anything more!

I started reading Mob Psycho 100 after reading the first ten volumes of One Punch Man. An artist I follow on Tumblr has been drawing fanart for this manga for a while and that got me a little curious before I even watched the OPM anime.
Despite knowing how fabulous the story and characters in OPM are, I went through the first chapter tentatively. After that, I suddenly found myself at the end of the volume and hooked.
Like another reviewer said, for a story where the main character is supposedly emotionless, I sure did laugh a lot. There's plenty of humor to be found (how could there not be with Reigen's character in it!) as well as suspense, intrigue and room for development.
As for the art... Well, when I first started reading One Piece, I thought the art was a bit strange, and now I love it so much, it fits the story very well. It helped me when I started reading Gash Bell later. For this manga, I think it fits the story. (Not that I wouldn't mind seeing it get the same treatment as OPM!)

had I written a review near the start of the series, I would have said that mob psycho is a hilarious and enjoyable read. this still holds true, but this series is also deeply moving and heartfelt. at its core, mob psycho deals with a person's ability to change. reigen says to mob that 'all that matters is to be a good person' and the story holds firm to this message throughout. we meet a cast of wonderfully unique and well written characters that always give you hope for positive change.

In One Punch-Man, I enjoyed the satire and the nonchalance of the protagonist a great deal. I initially thought Mob Psycho 100 was going to be One Punch-Man all over again, and I wasn't interested in essentially reading the same manga twice. But for the most part, Mob Psycho 100 remains sufficiently unique, with its protagonist dealing differently with his similarly overpowered nature. There's certainly much more teenage angst...
I wasn't 100% satisfied with the last arc, but the ending was good enough. Solid.

I really enjoy this manga and the way it approaches the story, especially when it comes to our main character Mob. He's pretty unique-feeling amongst other heroes in the same vein since while he IS incredibly powerful, he sees those powers as nothing all that useful in the grand scheme of things. He thinks that qualities like talking with others, flirting with girls and just being a kind person are far more important than being able to move things with his mind. Mob isn't very GOOD at some of those things at first but a large focus of the series is about him trying to improve himself so that he can be a person who doesn't have to rely on just his powers.
The overall message of the series seems to center around self-improvement, that nothing worth having in life is easy and that you need to put yourself out there if you want to get better. I think it's a great message for readers because while Mob does struggle to better himself you can slowly see the fruits of those labors over the course of the series.
I also really like the way this series handles villains. It doesn't just go with the usual "people are evil" route, some people often do bad things because it's what they think is right. It really humanizes everyone, and it does a good job of making you see life from the perspective of other people.
I have some minor complaints, mostly about the story. While I do like it overall, I can't deny that at times the plot just kind of meanders about and I have no idea what direction the story is taking. Heck at the point of the story I'm at, I can't even think of any antagonists that remain. There's nothing especially wrong with that but if you're looking for one long connected plot you'll probably be disappointed. At times the plot seems to just kind of pick up when it feels it, I sometimes wonder if the author actually has a plan for the series.

because i think this is already surpass onepunch-man. LOL
i really love onepunch-man i think it's one of the most entertaining manga of all time but i dont really feel connected to saitama. but with mob watching his character growth mentally and physically is much more satisfying than lovable deadpan saitama.
now my biggest wish for the author is crossover between the two manga

Since that one MC is invincible already and as a result it needs to develop the story by introducing more characters. Will become episodic in a while.
But this one MC is still in growth phase both in body and mind, there are much potentials to grow into, and there's romance as well, which the other doesn't have.

I'm up with the latest scanlated chapter (ch 36) and I'll have to admit, now I understand why ppl really like it. imo, the story becomes quite interesting only after Teru and Ritsu appear (and all them cliffhangers start to become painful).

It's not far enough along to truly compare to ONE's other works. However, the first few chapters definitely characterize Mob well, and most importantly it's starting out strong in terms of expanding and developing the cast of supporting characters in ways you never knew you wanted. Someone who seems like a one off joke can become a recurring or even primary character, and almost all of them are hilarious - which is something I loved about OPM and MnO
I'm excited because this is probably the strongest start I've seen out of one of his manga, and it very well might ramp up to the great stuff much more quickly than his other stories.
A tentative 10 simply because it's hitting all my sweet spots for the starting chapters.
