Feeling of emptiness

This has no substance, no closure, from the start of the manga and till the end 0 progress is made, story wise and romantically. It wouldve been better off, as a slice of life episodic read.
One of the best....

One of the best axed endings ever. It left things unanswered but to be honest there was never really a question that demanded an answer. All the key points were answered and we all know whats gonna happen after. Its realistic in that just because he is the main character doesnt mean he has to be the best or have fame. He jumped for his own reasons, not to be the best. Honestly, being proud of your achievements and moving on to be proud of something else is a great philosophy. The only thing I didn't like was the art. This manga was one of the author's earlier works so I can expect that.

Ah Inu Neko Jump!
I really don't understand it, this series had a cool main character, which is a good start most of the time, and had a rather original sport as it's theme, but in the end it just wasn't good enough. For me at least.
For each genre this manga tries to appeal i can say that you can find better. Sports and comedy were the main points here, and ended up decent at best. I expected a true romantic development but it didn't happen.
Maybe i'm wrong, maybe this is an undeserving rant but hell, i finished this manga and it made me feel nothing like i expected to feel: it made me angry. The ending is the absolute worst i've ever read, especially since this is no prequel.
There were some good comedy bits and i enjoyed the art, but it's like the story finishes with nothing. Some chapters are nothing but fillers, as if the mangaka was trying to expand a story that could have been much shorter.
Don't get me wrong: had this been a oneshot i would have liked it, but as it is...it gets rather disapointing.

Overall a great manga, in my opinion best out of the author's others.
The ending felt...right.
But still, I wish it would've continued for another 2 volumes or so, just so that there could be room for a better conclusion. Too many things were simply untold and unexplained. :[ But I get the passion for track./jump was simply lost and a new passion for swimming was found with Umisho.

While no single aspect of this title stands out to me as extraordinary, as a whole, it really shines. The characters are somewhat generic, but they're all great. The plot is simple, but well-executed. The artwork is great, and you can really feel the emotion in some of the character artwork (I will forever have the image of Yuki wearing the world's biggest grin -- and her headphones! -- imprinted in my memory!). Plenty of wacky comedy, but not too crazy. Ecchi here and there, but nothing overwhelming. Some drama, but not enough to call it one. And pantsu! Nothing was left out! This title is just good, plain fun, and I found myself unable to stop reading 'till I'd finished. Just read it-- you'll be entertained.

A few loose ends, but a nice story over all. Yuki never has the virginity thing explained to her and what does Hasegawa use Watsuki's voice recording for?
Should have been longer

Overall nice story, but the end was rushed, I seem to feel like the Ozu-Yuki-Watsuki relationship was not closed up (does ozu "take responsibility", who does watsuki actually like ?, etc...), and also Ozu starting to do jump track again (or not) should have been concluded. Seems like from volume 05 they rush to end it, and the actual end isn't conclusive enough. But overall is good.
Decent at best

The manga is decent at best. Starts out quite interestingly in the first two volumes but then looses its touch and appeal. It would have been better if the author remained focused on the romantic plot instead of introducing the whole long jump plot. The romance is all over the place with no real resolution or conclusion, for those reading for the romance (like me) you would be quite dissapointed later on in the story. Characters are introduced just for the sake of "filling" some space with no real purpose other then to occupy a few chapters. The ending, as many said does not "end" anything. My personal opinion, read this if you have time to spare and have no other immediate manga to read. Could not quite give this a 7 but 6.5 was also too harsh.
Another unfulfilled ending

its a pity the ending is inconsequential at all..there's no conclusion for anything..but the manga is worth the time, its ecchi yet nothing really happened throughout the series, except solo-flight kind of things, hehe..
it kind of bugs me since the previous manga i read is hikaru no go, and the ending of that series is also unfulfilling..but it doesnt have anything to do with manga at all, so please excuse this rant.
overall, this is a likable manga..
