I had tried to read this 4 times, but I couldn't get pass 10-15 chapters. I decided to push through it and I'm glad I did. I can honestly say that this is the only manga that has gotten me to laugh out load every chapter. This manga is near perfect. After the rocky start there is a consistent level of quality. There really isn't a chapter I dislike (except for the first couple). Although I wish there was more development in the relationships though, in these arcs it's as if they forget about relationships. Man I wish school was really like this.

It's hilarious! The only bad thing is that, like other people said, it doesn't really pick up until the Student Council arc. That's a good 50 chapters of plowing, and it can get pretty annoying at times, because it's really only about Adachi picking on Shinagawa in a completely dense and not particularly funny way. Goodness knows that 'picking on the main character' humour is funny (ahh, Kenichi), but Shinagawa keeps getting the short end of the stick, and that makes it... really not funny at all.

Once the other characters come in, though, the manga becomes awesome. Adachi's not so annoying, Shinagawa gets some happy moments, and the dialogue becomes downright hilarious. It completely makes up for the first half. If you have the patience, I totally recommend it.

Seriously one of the best mangas I've read. Very funny. Good characters and neverending randomly funny stories. The only thing I could wish for would be some better romance plot

But you'd definitely be missing out if you didn't read this! Unless you're against this genre

Decent humor, good art, and several times where it is hard to just not laugh at what is going on.
Very awesome series, can't wait to read more. This is added to my list of "Must buy" as soon as I see it in a book store.

Now, let see, i'm your typical old school otaku here. So, as you can predict, i have seen a lot of manga , whether its shoujo, shonen, or seinen manga. I have seen most of them, there's many junior high / high school theme out there. However, not many can makes me addicted like this one.
First i though its just another endless gag manga whose timeline seemly endless forever, or the character is just having stagnant personality, and just spew some random joke allover again.

No, you guys are really wrong, it started slow, but if you follow it closely, its just just more than your usual comedy manga out there. We can see on how a delinquent having personality change step by step to from irresponsible brat, till they become matured and responsible person as the time goes by from first semester till their third year, in a really hilarious yet exciting way. As the story goes by , we got introduced by a lot new character that will enrich the story plot.There's a lot of oldschool fighting scene too, which i really liked it and its really gave me 80s feeling.
Last but not least,there's a romance too in this manga, however i like the way the mangaka deliver its story, so its not seems like another sappy romance drama moment allover again. Instead, romance in the straight yet funny way(and not in overly sensitive way that makes me puke if you know what i mean). To sum it up: kickass fighting + comedy =90% , romance 10%.

I even ditched my homework and videogames for a little while just to marathon read this manga.
Shinagawa (the main character) by far is one of my favorite all time manga character.
Just read this awesome manga, i guarantee 100% you are not regretting it.

The last review is correct. It is just sort of funny until the Student Council arc. Then, it becomes "I can't catch my breath this is so funny", mostly because of the new characters. Early on, there is basically one story----Glasses Girl tries to reform Yankee Boy but ends up acting like a Yankee herself. Good for a volume or two, but two characters can not sustain a multivolume series. Eventually, they have to grow, and their relationship has to evolve---otherwise the reader loses interest. Think of how boring "Cat Street" would be with just two characters, nothing but "Extroverted guy tries to get shut in girl to come out of the house" for twelve volumes. Once the author starts adding new characters, the possibilities for comic interactions become almost limitless.

just another gag manga in the begining. But later it picks pace and trully deserves 10/10. Student council members are hillarious. And later even more side characters are introduced (somehow feels like One piece or Negima).

Wow. This manga was definitely a good find. It's funny and enjoyable! The craziness, lovable characters and originality (well as far as I'm concerned) is amazing! I love the somewhat mysterious baka megane-chan.and the male protagonist has he's own charm in the story. Romance is not part of the genre but there is some love comedy (more so later) - though I think it mainly revolves around the comedic life of the main characters.

lmao, I can't stop laughing when I think about this series. VERY cute and funny, with amazing likable characters. I just love Shinigawa so much, the poor guy... and Adachi, she's so stupid but she's sooo funny and awesome. I can't wait for their relationship to become... more defined!!! And for Adachi to reveal her past a lil more. Like, she HAS to be not as clueless as she looks, right...? Anyway, great manga, I can't see why anyone wouldn't like it.
