i'll say it's a good story but it seems everyone is trying to make it out better than RK. they're two different stories and two different points of views. so i won't be making a some comparison comparison about it just cause of the reason one charavter wants to use his sword over the other. with that perspective in my mind i'd say it's pretty decent and it has good action that does well to take care of tha action crave.

I really like ancient japanese manga and in my opinion this is loads better the rurouni kenshin. no self righteous talk or anything, just EVIL all the way. no b***** it like its wrong to kill bla bla bla.
and the art work is much more beautiful then rk. the ending is cute too!!

When I first read SDK, I thought 'Eeh? Am I reading RRK?'. But how wrong I was. Very wrong indeed. The main character, Kyo, kills.. oh he kills.. slash them, slice them, dice them, even punch them.

Im glad I read SDK and not watch it. The story of the anime is.. not so good unlike the manga.

*Too bad it's licensed. Less releases. T___T

SDK is way better than Kenshin. There's actually casualties in this one! And no stupid samurai hero.
A must read. Too bad there's not many chapters out.

Id would say the fights is similiar to kenshin with ridiculous power up and things, but I dont care about it(you wanna see good fight go read Vagabond, Blade of the Immortal), my main concern is the story, apparently SDK has more mystery and secret about the past of the between the characters, thus the story is more interesting. In SDK there're lot of more historical character like tokugawa ieyasu, yukimura sanada, hanzo, iga ninja clan, oda nobunaga, Shigetaka Togo, Masamune.

Id even say that the fight in Kenshin is also shounen manga pop culture, it's not different, even the technical parts are unrealistic.

it doesnt deserve a 1, this manga might not perfect but there're lotta worse out there.

This is the best manga ever for me....the first volumes really attract me and 25 onwards are the best! Kamijyo really knows how to please the readers..the plot is fantastic, the drawings are unbeatable, the characters are all wonderful with great personalities! Aka no ou is the greatest villain eveeer!

Certainly not the best, but VERY GOOD. Does not deserve a 1!!! -_- Has similarities to Kenshin, but SDK is it's own flavor and the fact that it's so long running is proof of that.

it's actually so-so. not an awesome manga, but great, either way. it's only one flaw is some of the dialogue. it can be quite simple and ...... corny. the dialogue just isn't as deep and touching like in Rurouni Kenshin.
