Naofumi Iwatani, an uncharismatic Otaku who spends his days on games and manga, suddenly finds himself summoned to a parallel universe! He discovers he is one of four heroes equipped with legendary weapons and tasked with saving the world from its prophesied destruction. As the Shield Hero, the weakest of the heroes, all is not as it seems. Naofumi is soon alone, penniless, and betrayed. With no one to turn to, and nowhere to run, he is left with only his shield. Now, Naofumi must rise to become the legendary Shield Hero and save the world.

The story is extremely good, we got 4 heores (1 hero(shield) and 3 retards(sword,lance,bow) that get summoned from modern age to a fantasy world where RPG settings seems to be normal and such things as level and status windows are implemented in real life. The heroes are supposed to fight against monster that come from another dimension and free the world. But for some reason the shield hero is hated and then framed time and time again while he persists the hard times trying to move forward and go back to his world but first of all survive the attacks of both the monsters and the people of the kingdom that want him death.
Not to mention that by being a hero of the shield, he can ONLY USE the shield, and his power attack is 1 so he needs comrades in arms that do the damage for him, but with the current situation he cannot trust anybody in the kingdom so he buys a slave (girl) and trains her in combat.
