Centered on a character that's insatiable and ever suspecting, LMS challenge the reader to put up with Weed's antics. Sometimes it's humorous as he saw himself as cool and handsome beyond compare. But other times, he put readers on edge through his shameless swindle and corrupted victimized mind-set. But isn't misunderstanding of a villainy antihero is the most exciting set up, rarely exploited among literature for young adult?

The novel author invest quite a time developing his main character personality. A solid background to explain his mentality and consistency of his behavior throughout many archs, speaks volume of his broader vision. A score of lovelable side characters serve as a cushion if he ever run out of ideas, which he did. Pay attention to Weed's fans way of fawning over his fighting sense, or his view toward social interaction or culture, same phrase over and over again. His method of swindle also stay elementary and his sweet-talking never sublime, but it's Weed who did the swindle! You can't help but laugh whenever our clueless adorable piece of shit behave the way he is. The same is true for Geomchi recklessness, Da'in helplessness, Hwaryoung fruitless effort to gain her crush's attention, Yurin's crafted innocence, Mapan profiteering scheme, so on and so forth. They can do what they like to do over and over again and we don't mind the space they've taken because we love them.

The world building also far from lacking. Game mechanic is well-balanced, allowing any class to become overpowered if they manage to find all of their respective masters. Real-life scenario is rarely disappointing. A bit stereotyping and generalization can be a source of irk for some of readers, but they move the plot. The story element is well-structured when recurring but lacking when it's not.

Lastly, Ark's author and LMS's author seems to be a fan, one way or other. They might be collegues or even friends. The story element used in one almost always occur in the other. But it is evident that one is relaxed with his story progression when other is pressured to make do with hastily made way out. Entirely his fault.

I read the LMS manga until chap 26, and a few days later I noticed that the manga was adapted from a novel. (I tend to be very lazy with my hobbies xD)
I am currently in vol 7 in the novel and it is such a wonder that I gave up reading the manga!
The manga isn't bad. The thing is, in the novel the author allows our imagination to wonder, and in the manga our imagination is reduced to drawings of the vision of that artist. Both are great, but I prefer the novel.

The story is readable.
Despite what the MC thinks that everything is money, his actions do portray him as more human than most of other characters.
The concept of the story is original, however the arcs / main quests are solved almost by doing the same things. This doesn't mean that its boring (far from it), but sometimes predictable.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND why people can't simply enjoy something good and different or do u want every story to have a MC with perfect hear/attitude kind and what not.this is a story of how a simple guys with his cockroach like vitality and spirit to never give up keep fighting while also blaming everyone but himself and it his personality that make it a fun read just enjoy the story

I'm at the 21th volume but I'm starting to grow annoyed with the MC...

I mean yeah, the story is nice, the action is nice, the writing is not bad.
But man, the MC really gets on my nerves lately...ok, he had a hard life and he strives to become rich. Still...his obsession is too much!
Probably he would even get at that level where he will wipe his ass with his fingers as to not waste money on hygienic paper anymore..

The MC does creppy things and at times he is downright disgusting: not washing his own hands for months?! What the hell...

It's hard to enjoy a story when the MC is a specimen like this and it actually becomes worse with every new volume. I dropped it. I'm actually surprised how in the world I actually managed to stay interested enough to read 21 volumes...

This series easily ranks among the worst I've seen in terms of character development. Despite 10 volumes of text, the MC continues to belittle his profession, act like an idiot in regards to his crush, physically abuses the people he summons, and is in general a PoS. I just had the pleasure of reading that the meal he prepared for his party was cooked with back-alley food past its' expiration date and hands that hadn't been washed for two months.

After reading for a week from volume 1 to volume 24 and still waiting for the next chapter

First thing first its a good read from the start but it became a huge down fall after I reach the volume 13 or somewhere at the The one man performance of MC was excellent and no comment of his addiction to japtem but after this everything seems so out of control.

The epic adventure so far seems decent

To understand this once must realize that this is not an ordinary virtual game

The MC characteristic is a given NORMAL people well not understand it.


With all said and done I can't say this is the best so far but I was hook reading only this for a week
Major changes is slow but is explained well unlike other who just jump in conclusion this execute a far better explanation that makes reader feel and imagine as if they are inside the world they read (but if you don't feel the same you still lack imagination).

Every Adventure is exciting nothing is perfect but this is near perfection.
My rate is 7.7 why? because

It seems most of the ppl r offended by the Mc char. I can't agree any less on that either but I would still like reading this stuff it is addictive, very well written n composed. And the things about mc's char I think we have already read about a lot of gud guyz always doing all the gud n great thing being very pure n bla bla bla we don't want to read that type of crap anymore as we have been reading/watching that same type of monotonous stuff from the day we were born we would now prefer to read something a bit evil n all (in BTW try reading the novel Ark... If u find lms char bad I wonder how will u rate ark's Mc I mean he is a total A*hole I won't say any more....) despite these fact the flow of the novel is really gud.. How the Mc is growing and how he is building his city morata and fighting off his nemesis while trying to get things done is really fun to read

there is a lot that i like in lms, but to be honest the more i read the MC is become unbelievable. First is his job is not combat related job but he could fight better than someone with combat related job. Second is the rate he leveling up and leveling skills is too fast, i could accept if when he create sculptor he get experience, but it is not, and lot of the time he only sculpt and cook so why his level so high. The third and last is other people than the MC is stupid,so it looked like the MC is awesome. Despite all of that it is still good novel with interesting battle.

Lee Hyun is shown to have a very volatile personality since Volume 1 so I don't get why it's so 'unexpected' in later volumes. You'll either love this guy or hate him which is the former for me, he's so terrible&vile that I can't help but root for him because I really love how intelligent he is. He's one of the few Main Characters that I've seen in battle novels that actually thoroughly uses their brain (not just his brute strength or friendship speeches) to get things done.

He's a manipulative jack-ass but he does have a solid sense of honor and deep caring for his family, willing to do anything for them. I also love how he's hard working, as much as he's always complaining, he doesn't just wait for things to get better, he gets up and works like hell to get what he wants.

The other characters are also very interesting and have solid personalities, they don't feel like they are just there for the sake of being there, the character development is great for the others too. The explanation of the Game itself is also really good, I don't see that kind of thing in other Game-based stories.

Sure it has its flaws (what doesn't?) but it's near-perfect to me for its genre.

I must agree with bobIV123. To be honest I thought it was awesome at the start and I thought the personality of the MC grew on me after a while but I started to get increasingly annoyed. I read up to volume 15 and I can hardly stand him for any extended period of time. He doesn't change and though he seems to be a genius, is usually incredibly dense. I feel like he'd give me an aneurysm. My interest gradually declined. I do still like some aspects of him like how he takes everything seriously and is hardworking and straightforward but then like bob said.....well basically everything he said that annoyed him, annoyed me.......im not sure I can finish this, but in the future I will see if things improve and update this.
