Description
Sakurai Tomoki is a normal student whose motto is "normal is the best". If there is one thing abnormal, it is that he often dreams of a girl whose face he cannot even remember, and when he wakes up from that dream, he would always be crying. He tried leaving it as just a dream... but one day, from the sky, an angel descended.

Outburst of tragedy?

The last few chapters (from 67 upwards) were indeed a bit more tragic than we were used to. But I have to say that without these tragic episodes, which were in the plot every now and then, one would forget that the story has a serious side to it. This serious side at least makes me think a bit about the manga and not just put it aside like every other stupid ecchi harem comedy. Guess I can only say... well play Minazuki... well played indeed. I'm so looking forward to the rest of the story.

REALLY needs the tragedy tag on this series.

This series started of as a silly ecchi comedy, turned darker and edgier, and now it's full blown depression inducing tragedy. Remember when this series was all about boobs, stupid characters and giggles? Well now the characters are just as stupid but the consequences of their actions are now far more serious and damn brutal. Horrific deaths, extremely tragic misunderstandings a pure-blooded douchebag villain and gawd-awfully STUPID "heroes" that have no clue how to deal with all the sudden shit heaped upon them. If you like your stories dark and depressing then this is for you. Meanwhile people who like happy stuff like me are gonna put this series on hold and pray that somehow things will get better.

Final EDIT: Wow...so it ends with a deus ex machina huh? I try my best to be civilised when I write reviews on this site, but this manga series is completely bullshit. I'm never reading anything this mangaka makes ever again. Funny ecchi for 75% of the series, turns extremely dark and depressing for the rest of it and ends with what is basically a reset button. The final chapter is utter garbage, heck the entire final arc is utter garbage. To think I followed this series for years...it's even worse than Mahou Sensei Negima's ending.

You already read it if you read any of the other ones. Starts off as "Unwilling Protagonist" who just wants a normal life. but he shifts for no reason i can recall to a "Perverted Protagonist" who just wants to see girls in panties. The story likewise goes from Comedy to Tragedy. The author cant seem to decide what they want and it shows early on. I honestly wish i could rate this manga by sections because the beginning is so much stronger than the later chapters.

No doubt the first 5x chapters was reallyfun but when it came to 6x and now at 71 in raw the tragedy material is beginning. The death of both main and side characters had no funny after all.

Gag

This started as a gag and it'll end as a gag. It might have seriousness in it, but it the end its a gag. The author does good humor mixed with ecchi drawings. Anyone that expects this manga to be serious i'm sorry it just won't happen. It might have bits of seriousness but overall this is a comedy. The author might of tried to go with seriousness route, but sadly it doesn't work. Without the gags this manga wouldn't be readable.

Since this is my first comment on this site, I'll try to keep this as brief as I can... Here goes nothing.

When I first started reading this series a couple years ago, I was hooked. I guess I still am, since I'm writing this. However, as time passed, and I reread the available chapters time and time again, I became more aware of its problems.

For starters, the interesting plot now plays second fiddle to lighthearted filler. In the beginning, the chapters were either comedic with underlying drama, or dramatic with bits of comedy to lighten the mood. This near seamless balance is the reason why I invested so many hours into it. The "lighthearted filler" chapters as I call them are actually pretty funny, but there are only so many times I can see Tomoki the chibified closet rapist get beaten into a bloody mess before I become annoyed.

The characters are also kind of hit and miss for me. One one hand, they're pretty original and entertaining. On the other hand, they don't undergo any real changes, save for the Angeloids. Revelations are made about their pasts, but they haven't really changed from how they are at the start of the story. It's fine when their clashing personalities are played for laughs, and in that regard they pass with flying colors, but isn't character development essential to comedies as well?

As for the art, there really isn't much I can say. Everything is pleasant to look at, and it keeps improving from when it started. Tomoki being in his chibi form far too often is the only hangup I've really paid any heed.

This series is still ongoing, so the above problems may be remedied in the future; only time will tell. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Sora no Otoshimono by any means; I just think it has quite a few problems. Or maybe I'm just reading into it too much. Either way, Sora no Otoshimono isn't great, but it can still make you smile.

the focus is comedy and not too much on the plot and i think its a good thing. . its from the comedy that it gets its charm. . and with that it weighs more of the fun and laughter which balances out the rest as to action, drama, romance?, etc. . all in all its a good read and its very funny. . lol. .

There are too many excited people just dropping 10s and 9s without any consideration.

The manga could of been good but the underlying plot is pushed aside for lame ass jokes that aren't funny and take up 90% of the manga. Whenever plot does come along it only last for 1 chapter or maybe half more but then it's back to stupid slapstick perverted jokes in poor taste.

The main character is pretty much the focus yet he is a lame, wormy pervert yet all the girls seem to like him without reason except for the sadist. And even though the angels are interesting they have no story because like I said whenever you get to learning about them it is back to stupid lame unfunny comedy for 15 chapters and then 1 and half chapter of story.

adarkfrostedlove has posted an agreeable review that sees past the BS so read his all well to get more of the picture.

You would think because this series is violent, perverted, random and filled with plot holes it wouldn't be worth reading but somehow, the story works. The strength of the series comes in its complicated balancing act.

It has a lot of humor in it but it also has an air of mystery and a lot of drama. The drawings often go into simple SD but it also has beautifully detailed splash panels. Most series that tries to do too many things wind up doing none of it very well but somehow, this series pulls it off almost effortlessly giving an almost "slice of life" genre's feel at times.

Another Average Series

For an ecchi comedy series this isn't all that great. The first 2-3 volumes a bunch of stuff gets thrown out there before the author finds a story rhythm. As of ch50 only 1 character has been developed with any real depth with 3 more recently getting a little bit of fleshing out.
As far as the ecchi & comedy goes it's really kinda flat. Overall I didn't find it that funny, and the art is good but not great.

Check out some of the better ecchi/comedy manga before spending time on this series.
