Description
Renold has just had to take in a new roommate in his dormitory: Roger Brouwer, the school Casanova and well known to be a prostitute. While Renold is initially quite put-out at the prospect of having to not only room with the guy but also leave his own dorm while Roger services his clients, the two eventually strike up a friendship and grow close. But unfortunately, as he grows closer with Roger, who notoriously dumps his clients when they start to show feelings for him beyond simple business, Renold realizes he has feelings for Roger that go beyond those of friendship.

Hierarchies of Pain and How To Refuse Them

I have serious reservations about this manga, however one of things that this manga does best, and something which I have seen so rarely happen in stories regardless of the sex of the persons in question, is that it does not invalidate anyone’s pain and suffering at the cost of another’s. The manner in which both Renold and Roger address each other wounds, as they do not center themselves at the expense of the other, is quite astounding and moving. And, this is what made me fall in love with the manga. Furthermore, despite using rape with such frequency and intensity, what I found most endearing about this was how not even once, especially not through drawing to feed our voyeuristic desires, was rape glamorized or recast as sex. To see how rape as not being used as a synonym for sex, is just so impossible in the yaoi genre, but it happened all the same here. Rape has actual consequences, it hurts, it is something to be feared, and it is weaponized. That’s why, what also drew me so much to this manga was not only Nekota’s refusal to show rape as pleasurable, but to not show rape at all. This is no small achievement. Lastly, I just love Nekota’s art so much.

In fact it was nice enough for me to read it twice! The art is quite nice, the characters are likeable with some development and the plot is interesting with a good pace. Overall really quite a nice manga to read. I especially love how Renold (and Rogers) are portrayed as more realistic guys, they're tough and defiant towards the things that harm them but they also have weaknesses and sadness, it's a whole level above the whiny uke and arrogant seme, here you have characters with personality. I also found the ending quite satisfying so that's a plus!

This manga is so passionate like a sonata playing in a quite afternoon, idk but that's what i'm feeling. The story is good, not so much to that tragic experience roger had but the subtle feeling of sadness is there, you can feel it. The angst is also not so much but it is just cruel. The friendship that starts to build is also not that elaborate, i feel like the author made this manga a little bit subtle in some parts for us to feel that this is Roger's starting point to a new life, like a flower that is starting to bloom, you know. And oh also in the end i really wanna know what is in the letter of that Grandma. I'm really curious about it. And the art of the author, i think i've seen it somewhere.
Strong plot, good art, above the average, the usual Neko-sensei

As for Nekota Yonezou's yaoi it's lacking of graphic hot sex scenes, that's why I took off one point. Leaving that aside it's a touching, warm love story, that'll pick up your interest to the end, it's not predictable, not annoying, not cliche. I like slow paced storyline and the characters who were different from my first impression. They're likeable and smart, moreover there's background for them and the growth of the characters. Also the art is very good. It feels like it was made with a lot of care and diligence. I had a really good time.
Definitely worth to read!
Oh btw. it doesn't matter what was in that letter, or rather - whatever there was, it's ok, nothing can break him, he'll be fine because he's not alone anymore

I understand what most people would think about the ending since a lot had to wait for about a year for the whole series to be fully scanlated but the case is different for me and I was able to read it all in one go. This is one of the bet Mangas I've read so far and it's definitely on my top list. The ending really left a huge impression on me and I do admit that I wish there had been more but it's done now and nothing can be changed so I'm happy it still ended well anyway totally recommend this!!!

that's it. No more. Thanks Nekota. Makes you fall for a story then kills it. Why? But... I admit it was good. A great read. However, I have one more bone to pick. What did that letter say? Why wasn't it shown?

It's a good time passer. It's slightly above average as a bl, but it isn't anything exceptionall. The characters are rather bland and uninteresting. The art is as good as the average bl and isn't particularly unique (except the main character has a serious case of horse face). The story is alright, but extremely predictable and cliche. It was a nice read overall

Honestly, this had been one of my absolute favorites...until I waited almost a year for the last chapter to come out, and it felt super rushed. I was expecting a lot more, I had no idea that was the last chapter. It just felt so...empty. Like the author just wanted to get it over with. And that's why I giving it an 8. It had the potential to be one of the best, but that ending was just disappointing. It's still a good read that I would eventually reread though

Ah, as usual, I just love twisted characters. But this time, it's the seme (well, he's a reversi). I enjoyed the plot and character development.
It's different than Nekota's fluffy, cute and PWP previous releases. I swear I had to double check if it's her both writing and not just art. XD

This is seriously so addicting- the characters are just amazing. It has such a beautiful tone of sadness to it, but it's cut through so perfectly with humor and happiness. Roje and Renold are both such good characters- Renold is adorable, but he's so strong, and Roje just makes you want to hug him, haha. The art is lovely, and the plot is good, too- it's got the perfect amount of drama to make it deliciously addicting, and the depth to make you seriously committed to the characters and how things play out. And, don't worry for those of you who like the ahem, action, lol, since Nekota Yonezou fails to disappoint (again and again) with her really hot um, "action" scenes, haha. I am so addicted to this manga, and I seriously need to read more! I definitely recommend this- it's beautiful and sad, yet it has its bright moments; it's deep and has drama, but it's not irritating or over the top (rather, it's executed extremely well). Not to mention the fact that Roje and Renold really make your heart ache and flutter- basically, just read this. Seriously.
