Yukisada has become captivated by a strange girl named Komaki Matsuzawa who says that her birthplace was on another planet and she is trying to go back. One day, Yukisada confesses his affections to Komaki, but immediately following this, Komaki's grandmother dies and she has to move away. They both manage to keep in contact for a while by writing letters, though Komaki stops writing around the time of the high school entrance exams. When Yukisada enters high school, he becomes concerned with one of his female classmates named Hiroka Sōma. In junior-high, Hiroka was constantly bullied, which would cause her to stay home, eventually causing her to become isolated and helpless. Yukisada chooses not to ignore her like most of his other classmates, and instead starts encouraging her and helps her to build her self-esteem. Before long, Hiroka falls for Yukisada, and one day confesses her love to him. During this time, Yukisada has kept in contact with Komaki and has mentioned Hiroka in his letters. Thereupon, one day after a long time, a letter arrives from Komaki to Yukisada asking who exactly is Hiroka.

Love story that could actually happen

...unlike most manga love stories.
I loved it. This lady has an unerring feeling for how love brings out the deepest insecurities. This is the way it actually goes, more often than not, especially when there are any substantial factors in the way of a couple getting together I found this story suspenseful, interesting, and very moving.

Another interesting work from Ms. Takemiya. I'm a big fan of her writing and pleased with every new work she starts. This one is no exception. A decent MC with two charming female leads resulting in an interesting love triangle. The ending is left open but that's up for the reader to interpret what follows next.
Nice read, but little closure

It was a nice read, but there just wasn't much closure at the end. It sort of just leaves the end to your imagination. Other than that, it was really heart-warming, and I fell in love with both female leads. The male lead got on my nerves a few times though. He's way to confident with his words and actions, which I feel is at odds with the way everyone sees him. Such confidence should have made him one of the most popular people in his class, if not his school, a playboy-type character so to speak, yet everyone acts as if he's just another classmate. I mean, how likely is "just another male classmate" going to tell a "beautiful new female transfer student" straight out that he knows her secrets. Just having such confidence, should have drawn the eyes of a few other girls in his school, yet we don't see anything like that. He's far from ordinary/typical, so I expected to see more girls acting friendlier with him. Ah well, that just me.

A very simple love story, but it has great quality. The length is just right to introduce the characters and move the plot at a good pace, but it does not move too fast nor tries to prolong the story with unnecessary plot twists. Open ending may seem unsatisfactory to some, but I thought it was a nice touch. All in all, it is a very nice break from the several prolonged romance series that are so popular right now. I would be very eager to read the original novel form if Baka-Tsuki would continue the translation.

i think its a good ending. in a sense that it doesn't disrupt the whole atmosphere. at the very least, its a satisfactory ending.
now, about the manga, although its a short ride, the story is pretty compact. so little page to waste (if there is any), so little unnecessary indecisiveness. unlike many other romance-shounen who like to keep their reader hanging through everyday little-contribution-to development, this manga address 'who he gonna end up with' with speed. which is to my liking. also, the level of emotion involved inside this manga is pretty suitable for highschooler. not too deep, and not too shallow. which is, once again, to my liking.
good riddance.

It's very good. It gave me a lot of feeling like the time I read "Suzuka" but it doesn't have a truly ending.
I really hope for part 2 of this story.

it's definitely not original, but it's still a very good pass time read.
heartwarming story and no matter which side you pick, you won't be too disappointed in the end.
however i must say, it's not much of a comedy. it's mostly sad. but, you won't regret picking up this book
i only wish it was a bit longer
still, very very nice manga

Spoiler (highlight to view)
the ending is ok. it'd be stupid to have a souma ending in only 4 volumes, much more a matsuzawa ending.
imo, chapter 11 is the best chapter in this series. Also, i wish it'd be adapted to an anime.(Add more content and develop it to a Souma ending)

i also love the art. Definitely a shounen manga.

I thought this was a really sweet story, but nothing original. A typical high-school boy getting involved in a love triangle. Both girls were interesting; The mysterious, gloomy girl & the beautiful, cold girl. (Which she isn't really cold, but she acts like that due of her past.)
Unfortunately, both of the female characters did not had any good development. Their inner world wasn't really explored. And Tamura was just a typical boy, nothing to explore there, besides his past with Matsuzawa.
And about the ending... Well, it was open, I guess the author wanted us to decide by ourselves with whom Tamura matched better.
