BECK is the story of fourteen-year-old Yukio Tanaka. He has no hobbies, bad taste in music and his shy and neurotic personality make him his own worst enemy. Little does he know that his life will be forever changed when he meets rocker Ryusuke Minami, an unpredictable sixteen-year-old with a cool dog named Beck. Ryusuke inspires Yukio to get into music, and the two begin a journey through the world of rock 'n' roll dreams.
Note: Won the 26th Kodansha Manga Award for Best Shounen in 2002 (shared with Sakigake!! Cromartie Koukou).

This is really the best music manga which was ever made. I am looking forward to the next volumes but i think it is going to end soon. Hopefully it wont´t go on forever and end in a mess. But if Sakuishi has some good ideas to run this story for a few years more...it would be great^^
I play the guitar and this manga really makes me wanna keep playing. (spoiler alert!!) I really didnt like it when Maho told koyuki-kun she was leaving tho. it kinda broke my heart too n_n. I felt like I lost my breath...lol. this manga really gets you into the story a lot!
Definitely a must-read for music lovers. Hell, BECK made me pick up a guitar :P
This one is so good! I spend all my free time waiting for new releases and when I got it I enjoy a lot reading it listening at the same time the soundtrack from the anime... The anime made me love the manga more than before... beacause it's a manga about Rock it's great to listen the songs associated to the story!

Beck is greate, it's soooo goooood that wen you read it you realy want to hear the music. I just love it.

this is one of my favorite manga
As a huge music fan whos tastes span all music genres( except country(>_<) this manga hit all the right chords for me. All of the charactors pull you in and the art really lets you feel the energy from the bands even sans audio
Read until Vol 19 only, surprisingly engrossing bcoz it shows me a new topic that I have never seen b4. Have some comedy & a bit of ecchi to liven things up but after while it gets kinda boring ( I have a short attention ).
For: drama buff, worth a read. ( U have 2 read 2 c is it ur cup of tea )
