It's draggy, it's annoying, the girl never learns, the guys are selfish and just looking good.
The exaggerations done are in a manner that is more crude than funny and you will hardly find anything worth it in the series. There are no heartwarming moments to redeem the stupid things done and the art is not clean enough for my taste.
Only read if you are into cheap laughs. It really ought to be shoujou-gag manga, the romance if any hint of which resets to nil in an instant and is seriously non-existant.

It's long. It's stupid. But it's also incredibly entertaining. When MEN, who normally won't touch all other forms of shoujo with a ten foot pole, read this manga then there must be some sort of allure. Especially when you consider the genre. Normally the idea of a bishie harem with a female protagonist with an average sized chest would make the seinen-loving guys run in fear. But not this one. For all its foibles, (like it's length, slow episodic pacing, and nosebleeds) Perfect Girl Evolution is sometimes genuinely funny. Kyouhei may look like an alien, but there's a certain Fight Club appeal to him that makes the women blush and the men go "THAT'S MANLY!" And while Sunako may be the only girl in many of the scenes, when the chibi goes away, an extremely sexy woman takes her place. A woman who will eat popcorn, cook, watch Saw III and play video games. Poof! There went the macho man qualms about reading it. (Although realistically, they're probably going to skip all episodes not involving those characters...) Just TRY to make the same guys read Paradise Kiss. Forget Nana or Mars.
But to be fair, this manga is also one of the rare instances where the anime may be a better use of your time. It really is getting up there on the repetition and duration. And the anime has the same calibre of art and humor compounded into 24-so episodes. The best stories are still there. There's even more backgrounds. (Although the manga is the only shot at seeing naked Sunako...) You don't have to wait for Chapter 100+ for Sunako to primarily appear as a pretty human being in an episode rather than a squashed Ringu chibi. And the relationships almost approach a real, tangible slice of life development. Or at least, they don't reset.

Bishie fest

If you haven't realized, the entire thing is a bishie fest sprinkled with humor to add flavor.
No seriously, look at it. Every page, there's one of four bishies doing something, looking bishie and whatever. That's really all it is, except that it also has dialogue.
This is the most horribly background drawn manga ever. Why? There's no background, because all it is is a bishie fest. Occasionally, bits of background will be drawn, but... that's it.
ROMANCE IS SLOW. I mean, snail paced slow. I mean, wtf slow. 1/8 chapters actually have any character development, unless the mangaka decides to go on a development spree.
Comedy... it's so so. It's not laugh out loud, it's the kind that gets you a grin. But there's so much repition of it. Not that it matters. It's a type of comedy that's... like that.
MEh. It's okay. But it seems like the mangaka simply wanted a way to draw nothing but bishies and get paid. I mean, I actually counted a chapter where the heroine appeared actually drawn twice. As in, 30-45 pages in which the main character is drawn twice. The rest is super deformed. WTf?!

This is another comedy that starts out great but never goes anywhere. The jokes keep repeating and the relationships move at a snail's pace. Since the story only involves a handful of characters, the repetition is really apparent and gets old really fast.
Instead of telling meaningless events, this comedy tells several events where the reclusive girl makes major progress that's just erased at the end of the event. After awhile, I got really tired of the resetting and stopped reading because it was clear that the author didn't want the story to go anywhere.
You'll probably like this manga if you don't hate repetition, but I enjoy comedies that move a long and come up with new jokes.

I really loved anime version. And I heard that manga is much better than anime, so I read it...
It has very fun moments, but... yosh, it was so lenghty! No, I don't like series girl-and-boy-fall-in-love-and-start-dating-in-three-chapters. But.. it is much.
However, I still like it.

Definitely entertaining, the romance progresses slowly though.
The reason it's also categorized under 'psychological' is probably something like 'what it means to be beautiful'.

I really like this manga. its the type you just wanna read again and again. Agreed - no development but the author must also be sick of dramatic shoujo manga as I'm slowly becoming unfortunately. It's lighthearted, which is where the manga's appeal comes from, and it leaves you wanting to live life or something like that, I cant put it to words. I recommend it to those who want something entertaining but not deep (although I do think there is depth there)funny and fun^^
