I read this a long time ago but wanted to come back to it today because it's one of those stories you don't forget. I like it for may reasons but the main reason is because the plot is very passionate. Yes, rape and revenge are very wrong, but sensei makes it readable and enjoyable in a strange way. At first, I was very angry at both of the main characters but I grew to like them together and I realized that they had to go through this horrible drama for them to meet halfway.

I also have a very weak spot for reuniting characters, especially childhood friends. That part made the story even more beautiful.

Hum, when I read the description, I expected it to be controversial (which I like). Then I read the reviews and though it would be awesome. Well, it’s both, in fact. But that just means this manga is atrociously, horrifically good. Finally, a correct take on the rape issue. I really don't care for rape, I mean, I'm not those people that can't stand the you-rape-me-so-I-love-you type of manga or those who are morally concerned and get horrified by it. I can take it pretty easily, whatever the situation is. But really, more realistic mangas likes this one are brilliantly good. I love psychological plots! And what do they bring along with them? Pain, angst, dark pasts and deep, intense relationships. I cried my heart out, just the way I like it! More than that…All the things I expect from a manga and sometimes have to search so desperately for (since it’s one out of ten that I actually consider this good).

Well, at the beginning, I didn't see how that would become love. They hated each other and I couldn't ever see that being developed into something even good. Gosh, this is such an emotional roller coaster! At first I hated both the characters, and the only thing I felt between them was hate. As their feelings turned into love, mine towards them turned into pity and admiration. Some people say you don't have to like the characters in order to like the story. I never agreed to that until now. I think they are both pathetic and twisted in their own ways, but I still enjoyed the story very much.
Wakae's completely broken. He's screwed up - yes, thank to Tatsuki, partially, but he was weak to begin with, as Tatsuki says himself. I love the moral consciousness of it all. More than feeling the pain of rape, Wakae feels the pain of betrayal. The scar Tatsuki left on him is much more psychological than physical, even if the act itself was physical.
Tatsuki, on the other hand, is even more screwed up. He shows love by raping, hurting and trying to tie down the person he loves. Then he himself realizes a long lost love, through his own suffering. He's almost numb to life, as he goes by it disguised as a common man, even though he was such an outstanding kid and also even though he clearly though about Wakae ever since the beginning of the manga, before their encounter. I also love when the main characters gets totally mind broken, like they are almost lifeless. It makes it all more touchy!

As for the "character who bullies the one they love" category up there, I still wonder: after all, who bullied the one they loved? Wakae? Tatsuki? Or both of them? It’s amazing that it swings both ways.

And the end is particularly adorable! Hehe, I love how Tatsuki suddenly turns into a complete uke at the end and says cheesy stuff like "I though you abandoned me" and such. Not only that, but they both turn completely lovey-dovey and say sweet stuff to each other... So unfitting with the rest of story that it's actually cute!

The art is pretty mostly, but it's rather dark. They have hair - everywhere. I know men are supposed to have hair, but they usually don't in yaoi. Even so, it suits the story.

Oh, and some of the expressions used on dialogue were so dirty! My innocent me was all: O.O (I'm kidding... But they are dirty).

Well, my only complaint - and it's not that big - is that I'd like to have seen Wakae's side a little more. Other than that, this manga is totally worth it.

At first i though there was really no reason for him to rape his classmate, but because he was hurt in some way that his classmate started inviting other people to there hide out i though maybe his jealousy was the reason for his rape.
The whole revenge plot was really harsh but i kinda liked the whole revenge, i hardly find any manga like this... : ) But the whole story was unique and captivating... If you love the whole "Rape for Revenge turned to Love" theme than this is your manga : )

I agree with NEXTLOVER here, for the most part. Although I did enjoy it and thought it had something really good going, the characters didn't feel quite right. There were times when they acted in ways which didn't make a ton of sense, or their feelings changed too suddenly without going through the proper developments to warrant it. It was a bit jarring and took me out of the story. The basic story was great, but it needed about four more chapters of development within it to reach the ending it did.

I agree with robororobo

READ IT.

It has rape. And it is bad. It made me feel sick as the mangaka actually wanted me to feel. But the character development and plot and how the story unfolds with flashbacks... it's refreshing in a way...All in all it's very well written and drawn.

READ IT.
first i think it's too hmm.. made me frowned. but after i read it.. i was just like, oh, yeah, i like this stroy especially the ending and the extra, the flashback, what they feel, everything flows well. this manga makes me like psycho manga, especially yaoi. the rape scene is not that scary at all, i hate the rape scene, i can't stand with it at all, but in here i don't mind with the rape scene ^0^

The plot, suspense, pacing are all unique & hardly ever touched upon. But the characters? Man, there was just something "missing" or off about them. It's as if the mangaka didn't have enough time to focus on the characters & just spent everything on the plot & the surprise, suspenseful elements. Usually, it's the other way around: More focus on the characters than the plot. Welp. I'd rather have unforgettable characters with the same ol' same ol' plot than stunted characters & amazing plot.

I don't know; this was just "alrite" to me. Not mind blowing or a dime piece at all.

This manga is just absolutely beautiful. Though there was something off about the ending (I can't really explain it into words...xP), the storyline, art, the characters was all awesome. What's really great about this manga is that you can actually feel the feelings and emotions of the characters, which is really hard to find in a lot of yaoi.

I loved how the mangaka put in Tatsuki's flashbacks-it gave a TON of emphasis, and made you understand and "feel" the characters even more.

Had I known it's about rape I hadn't touched this one. Such topics always drag me down, and I'm not reading yaoi for that.

However, this one volume left me thinking that no matter how I may think about violence and other people from the outside judge about it, it can be completely different for the people involved. Some people forgive and some can't even understand such people who can. And thinking about that means to try to understand (which is always better than just to shook it off).

Also it doesn't need violence to render someone defenseless, guild seems to work just as well or even better.

I liked its art, kind of character presentation and setting very much. It shows adults that look like adults, live like adults and behave like adults and except for the flashbacks its stage was a bus.
For that and for changing my point of view temporary and thinking deeper about prejudgment I gave it an 8. Maybe it managed to pull that off because it was realistic.

If someone knows more mangas of such kind (no rape pls), please leave a private message.

As for the story and its progress, well like wyldfae below me it also didn't touch me much but enough to sympathize with both. And the only deep thing it had were the thoughts it left me with. And that was worth it.

Normally a yaoi leaves me with something else XD
