At the time of making this, I know that there is a similar topic nearby. It's just that I'm looking for something different. Here is a list of what I have previously enjoyed when it gets into the horror genre:

Halo: 343 Guilty Spark Level (this scared the he** out of me on my first play through, still creeps me out today)

The Silent Hill series (my personal favorite is Shattered Memories)

Amnesia: The Dark Descent (scariest game ever, my LP of it)

Dementium: The Ward (not scary, but enjoyable to play, the ending was unexpected though)

Bioshock (very well made, just loved the game)

Night of the Living Dead (enjoyed)

Dracula (enjoyed)

The Exorcist (creepy in some areas, enjoyed)

In the series, I don't want it to have every character screaming when something happens, I don't want there to be a lot of gore (just enough to get by, too much just gets tiring), and to be as far away from Dead Space, Slender, and Marble Hornets as possible.

Thank you if you can find anything.

Corpse Party Blood Covered (http://vndb.org/v2632)
Corpse Party Book of Shadows (http://vndb.org/v7849)

Dark Decent was scary... are you serious? It only had a few "holy hell" moments in it. I don't see why it scares the hell out of people, its creepy but that's really it.
Anyway, my thoughts on Dark Decent aside, give Corpse Party a try, its a horror game that actually made me jumpy.

Well in a way your request is a tad confusing. Are you asking for a movie, tv series, game series, or all of the above? But anyways, I play a lot of FPS games and violent action games, so iunno what you would be considered "gorey" because I suppose at this point my idea of gore is kinda twisted, lol.

Game:
Fatal Frame I and II (aka: Project Zero)
F.E.A.R
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Metro 2033
Bioshock I and II (not really horror, but it has it's creepy moments)
Haunting Ground

Tv Series:
The Walking Dead

Movies:
The Tales of Two Sisters (korean)
The Uninvited (korean)
Ju-on (Japanese, I enjoyed it more since it was the original)
Ringu (Japanese, same reason as above)
28 Days Later
28 Weeks Later
Dawn of the Dead
Shutter (Thailand, same reasoning as the Japanese ones, lol)
Paranormal Activity I and II (the others are crap)
The Cabin in the Woods

Manga:
Sugar Dark (only one I really liked... cuz it has a happy ending, lol)

I was wondering if there was any manga that catered to my tastes. Sorry if I was unclear.

F.E.A.R. I didn't really care, but I'll have it another go. Fatal Frame I can't play, except for Spirit Camera which I heard was pretty bad anyway. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a new one, something to check out. Metro 2033 I have wanted to take a look at. I beat both Bioshock games, waiting for Infinite to come out. And, I can't play Haunting Ground either. The Walking Dead was pretty bad in my opinion, but I plan on seeing if the comic is any better. As far as the movies, the only one I want to see on the list is Dawn of the Dead, that is, if your talking about the original.

As far as what I consider to be too gory, I would have to say that The Darkness II is close to that line. The reason why I don't consider it to be over the line is because they aren't too graphic with it. All that really happens is that when you slice a guy in half, everything stays where it is instead of going sploosh on the ground, and you just tear a man's heart out after ripping open his chest, see, not too graphic. When it comes to manga, Franken Fran is the goriest one I have read, and I eventually stopped reading it because I got tired of all the gore.

Hope this helps with the search.

EDIT: Also, silencecomes I can't play Corpse Part because I don't have a PSP and I can't read Japanese, Chinese, or Spanish.

For a list of my consoles, here they are:
PC, 3DS, GC, Wii U (getting it sooner or later), and emulators for up to the PS1 and N64

Just to throw it out there, you can download a PSP Emulator and a ROM for Corpse Party so you can play the game on your computer. Blood Covered is a remake of a PC-98 game and its graphics have only slightly improved, and Book of Shadows isn't very graphic heavy either if your computer isn't up to gaming.

PS: Both Corpse Party games have been translated from Japanese to English by X-Seed.

Edit: If you can't find a PSP emulator try emulator-zone

Doing that already, tried running Sonic Rivals and Silent Hill Origins a few times a while back with no luck at all. Guess it's time to try again. See how it works this time.

Hmm, Japanese horror manga is a bit strange. In the way that it's a lot creepier, but not in the Hollywood gore-and-blood style, which isn't scary at all.

Uzumaki. Itou Junji's stuff creeps me out. Oh god.

Like I said, Corpse Party isn't graphic heavy at all, any computer old as XP should be able to run the emulator and game.

I recommended some games in the other thread. Ib and Yume Nikki are probably more up your alley than the other ones. There's also Alan Wake and maybe American McGee's Alice.

Finally got an emulator to work to any extent. It's called PPSSPP. Though the game crashes in the menu, I can take a look at eventually playing it because the emulator has been in constant development since it's release in November.

Just finished Sugar Dark: Umerareta Yami to Shoujo and beat Dementium on Friday.

Now for my feedback on the manga. As far as the horror aspect went, it was as scary as the Spawn comics (the American series, was reminded very much of this while reading, still need to read the manga though), but it was an enjoyable read.

Going to be running through Uzumaki next. Is there anything else people want to throw at me?

EDIT: Just finished Uzumaki. It was okay, but far from what I was looking for. As a side note, the story really needed either this of this, would have made the experience much better.

well...If talking about games and manga then Devil may cry has a manga which is fairly decent, and the games are good as well....
Other horror mangas you might enjoy are maybe Shiki, Dorohedoro, Bloodie junkie,Priest, 6000, Blood sucker (but its rather graphic) and
Apocalypse no toride.

As far as the games are concerned, I plan on playing to those during spring break (2 weeks from now).

As for the manga recommendations, going to continue reading Bloody Junkie as more chapters come out, didn't like Apocalypse no Toride, and going to continue reading 6000 as more chapters come out. As for the rest, going to be reading those, but still haven't encountered anything scary yet.

Side note, the creepiness factor went up as soon as I set my Bioshock, Silent Hill, and Amnesia soundtracks on shuffle.

EDIT: Blood Sucker is something that I'll read, though it still isn't scary. But, I have noticed that the stuff that does scare me consists of the protagonist being all alone nearly all the time. Anything out there like that?
