Hi, this time i'm looking for Martial Arts manga, can be any sort of martial arts eg: kendo, karate, judo etc. i would prefer high school, but thats just a preferred setting, not absolutely necessary. anyway some examples of what i want are:
Zen Martial Arts Academy
Rurouni Kenshin
Recca no Honoo - yes i do consider ninjutsu a type of martial art
Full Contact
Kenji
Tiji-kun!
Girls of the Wild's
Green Boy: Shouting to You
I have read more, that i liked, but its too much effort to look through my lists lol
also don't be afraid to recommend something you do see on my lists, since i'll probably re-read them smile
edit: male lead is preferred

what i want:
Action - doesn't have to be full out fight/war manga, just a bit of action helps
Light comedy - by this i mean not gag, but not 100% serious, maybe 70% serious 30% comedy?
Romance - the romance can be a light romance or sub plot
PLOT!!! - a story of any type is never really good if there is no plot
complete/actively scanlated - no point reading something if you can't finish it

Dont want:
Gag
Oneshots
Dark/Depressing
Psychological/Mind F_ck
Yaoi
Yuri
Shoujo
- shoujo is ok as long as its Skip Beat! style
Josei - i don't mind romance but Josei is a little to much for my tastes
Shounen Ai
Shoujo Ai
Rape
Hentai
- this is okay if its like Kyoushi to Seito to(well most of FUUGA's work
Doujin
Smut
Gender Bender
- this is ok ONLY if its girl dressed as guy
Gore - a little is fine but i don't want it to be like Gantz where its all detailed out, blood spurts and decapitation i can handle, but i don't need to see the details of brain matter splattering the floor
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
please check these lists reading, Complete, Faves, Dropped
Try All Rounder Meguru by ENDO Hiroki.
It's about a high school student doing Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). There is some light comedy, but the fights and the characters' background stories are dealt with in a serious manner. I didn't sense any romance though. A new scanlator picked it up, so it should still be actively scanlated.
@Smilo - thanks but i'm not to sure on Holyland since it looks like it's based more on the psychological side and i don't like that (its in my don't wants list), but ill give the first few chapters a look before deciding
@Avian3 - thanks, i've had Teppu on my maybe list for a while, since its female lead and i prefer male, but ill give it a go now, also Double Arts looks interesting so i'll deffinately give it a go, although it was axed by jump. finally The Breaker i don't think ill read this 1, it sounds Dark and i really don't like dark manga, thanks anyways
@Tripitaka - thanks, i'd say All Rounder Meguru doesn't have any romance, but it looks interesting so i'll check it out
@Linnoit - thanks, i actually just read the latest chapter of The God of High School less than an hour ago, but thanks anyway bigrazz
anyways keep them coming please ^_^
these are manga on my wish list that have the "martial arts" genre, you could give them a try:
Ruler of the Land
Shana oh Yoshitsune
Demon King
@Avian3 - thanks, ill have a look at Ruler of the Land since it looks like it'll be fun, but i'm not sure about Shana oh Yoshitsune, it's description just doesn't peak my interest at all. also i dropped Demon King a while ago, i can't exactly remember why i dropped it though, so i might re-start it just to remember why bigrazz
edit: i think i dropped it cause i didn't understand the left to right of manhwa at the time actually o_o (i know a stupid reason) but i'm gunna read it now smile
@jaqenhghar - thanks, but Tekken Chinmi and it's sequels don't really look interesting to me either
@psycho-shocker - thanks, although i don't really like the body-swap genre i'll still give Change Guy a look and hope its as good or better then Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo
Shana oh Yoshitsune Is definitely worth a shot. I really do highly second it.
Havean't read it but Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru might be up your alley.
The Breaker isn't as dark as you might think it is. It's got a lot of light-hearted moments and the art is really good. Other than that, there's a lot of martial art styles and they somewhat go in depth with each style so you have a general understanding of them. I really recommend giving it a try before passing it off as too dark. It's great for a semi-long term read along with it's sequel. Trust me it's great!
@MarvelousMind~AliceinAmestris - Thanks, i'm still going to pass up on Shana oh Yoshitsune since it just doesn't look interesting to me, as for Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru i'll give it a look.
@RandomUser - thanks, i'm almost up to date on HSDK
@Kama - i'll give the first 5 chapters a look at, if it still seem's too dark for my tastes i'll let you know
