I just caught up with Kingdom the other day and now I really want to read something on that is like Kingdom or Shoukoku no Altair. I really enjoy the maneuverings of the characters and its effects so anything like those two, or like Historie, would be awesome.

How about Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - "Kono Watashi no Mono Tonare, Yuusha yo" "Kotowaru!" by TOUNO Mamare/ ISHIDA Akira? I didn't see it on any of your lists, and it fits your request perfectly: The Demon Queen pairs up with the Hero in order to bring war to an end. They secretly pull strings in the economic, social, political and military field and teach people what it means to be a person. I like the author's deeply humanistic approach.
