NO WEBCOMICS!
NO YAOI!

It doesn't have to be set in China, I just want the feel of it. You know, culture, clothing, martial arts, fantasy, anything. So long as it feels like it's Chinese one way or another. And I'm ONLY looking for Ancient China or something similar, I won't take anything of the present time. The earlier it is the better.

I realize that Korea might have some that seems very similar to China, and fact is most Asian countries are influenced by China more or less. I'm willing to take manhwa, so long as it mentions nothing about Korea. That means, they either avoid the topic on where the place actually is, or is in a fantasy world. If the clothing (especially those hats and those very high obi traditional clothing...) looks too Korean rather than Chinese, than it's out. I won't take webcomics and Hwang Mi-Ri stuff however, DON'T RECOMMEND THEM! Yes, at all.

Examples would be stuff like:
Tao Tie Jie
Kingdom
Ryuurouden
Ruler of the Land - It occasionally has those Korean-style hats... but I only recall once or twice so I'm willing to ignore it.
Gu Fang Bu Zi Shang
Wedding
The Ravages of Time
The Bride of the Water God (can't remember too well... I *think* it fits, but if it mentions Korea, then it's out)
Snow Love
Shadow of Visions
etc.

Petshop of Horrors fits a very tiny bit. It has a small portion of it that's set in Ancient China. Overall... it's set in the present time, which doesn't fit as much as I like the manga.

Yaoi are out, but I'm completely fine with shounen-ai. I prefer non-harem, and non-ecchi, but it's not required. I *strongly* prefer Traditional Chinese manhua, please avoid Simplified Chinese ones. That means, avoid PRC please! I included Gu Fang Bu Zi Shang only cause the author published it under a Taiwanese publisher, so the manhua and novel are both TRADITIONAL. But otherwise, I won't take PRC authors. HK, TW, and anywhere else are just fine.

Thanks in advance!

Already reading Scarlet Palace, and finished Wedding Season 2 lol... Qi Dan Qu does not fit, it's not Chinese. Oh and, already read Luo Xue Chang Bai and Incandescent Moon too.

Gonna go read the rest, thanks!

Mangaka (manhuaka? Haha) Yi Huan writes multiple stories set in ancient China, I know.

An adaptation of a Chinese classic, Sangokushi.

Maybe maybe the story Weapons of the Gods. It's fully published in English, but otherwise there's almost no information on it.

Also categories! Until I did research for this, I didn't even know these ones existed smile I second the one for Ancient China, though there's also one for just regular China and Wuxia/Chinese Martial Arts.

Edit: There are like four series under Beijing Opera, too.

Hm, I think Joou no Hana fits. I'm pretty sure it's not based in China but the clothes and the environment is very much like ancient China.

Edit: Oh, and Blood and Steel is very nice. Uh and I just passed by a manhua that looks like it's pretty Chinese too, The Ravages of Time. Also I'm not sure if you'd like this one and you probably already know about it but Feng Shen Ji is kind of Chinese-y, but it is pretty exaggerated.

Sorry if I'm not much of a help, although I'm Chinese I don't read much Chinese manhua lol.
