I marathoned Shi ga Futari o Wakatsu Made some weeks ago, and now i'm stuck having to wait for new chapters to be released.

And between the shounen and slice of life mangas I'm currently reading, I'm missing some action such as Shi ga Futari o Wakatsu Made, and I'm useless at finding good stuff on my own, so here I am asking yet again for your wonderful help smile

So what I want:

* tough grown up male lead (20+ minimum)
* action
* at least some romance, doesn't have to be alot.
* no weird stories or stories that are confusing or hard to follow, i want it straight up and simple
* no rape, can't deal with that stuff at all
* preferably 100+ chapters released, but really i take anything as long as it's good.
* set in the present or the future

Thanks! biggrin

Gangsta fits your description perfectly except the chapter. And pretty much most of Seinen manga are like that. biggrin

First - I absolutely second Gangsta. by Kosuke! As for the reasons to try it aside the limited numbers of chapters out, they are mainly bound to the refreshing drawing style and even more the well-paced storyline. Just give it a try and the characters will get you on their side right away. Kkk.

As for others, I would say ...

Brave 10, which comes up with a nice action setting, a rather likeable main character being far from your naive 24/7guy, a funny female counterpart and some eye candy drawings. Although it's not placed in the future or present, it has this modern feel.

Of course the last two points goes also for Mugen no Juunin by SAMURA Hiroaki, which is like a masterpiece. The storyline revolves around a revenge plot and it's the first time, that such a plot not only deals with the troubles to execute those plans, but also with the hardships of guilt and the fear to end up the same as the enemy. Pretty interesting.

Basilisk is pure action. Historical, but pretty stylish told. If you ask me, then it's better not to get attached to the characters too much and the short format of the series is just right.

If you don't mind Manhwa, then Jackals and The Breaker (2nd main character is 20+) might also come up with something worth a look. Both have been caught my attention and made me read them in one go, because the storyline just draws you in without longer breaks. So, just right to kill some time.

Last one for now and maybe best match, is Dendrobates. It's a tiny little bit similar to Shi ga Futari o Wakatsu Made and comes up with a main character working during the day for the police and at night being an assassin. Honestly, it was fun how that guy changes roles so far.

Y+M
Dance in the Vampire Bund
Shingeki no Kyojin
Gun x Clover a little weird
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei
XBlade
Kure-nai

If you don't mind a female lead, try Battle Angel Alita and sequel.

Well, the only thing I could recommend with that criteria probably is Shi ga Futari o Wakatsu Made. It just fit really well. The rest were not very good (especially that weak ass loser samurai with only immortality as a redeeming value). At least for me. Because since I got married, had a full time job and probably got only 3 hours/week manga reading time, there were less and less weak ass manga I could put up with.

My advice is, just do the advanced search with a seinen and action genre, lose the comedy and ecchi tag and go nuts. You might find dozen of hidden gems like Jormungand and Teppuu. Manga that you would never, in a million years, hope to find with that generic type criteria of yours.

And btw, Basilisk, Freesia and Jiraishin is an okay manga, but got a rape-ish kinda scene. You might want to avoid that.

Heck, if you were okay with rape and not so modern setting, I probably just gonna go with Berserk and Vagabond. Why even bother with Basilisk (which is kinda okay) and that weak ass loser samurai (which is kinda awful).

How about these:
Yami no Aegis and Jesus have the main characters appear as side characters in UDDUP. Lots of action, and if I recall correctly, have no rape despite maybe some nudity.

Yugo >> the lead is a negotiator and goes around the world. The cases are interesting and some might be trickier, but not hard to follow. The lead is cool too.

Ouroboros is good too. The lead seems like a wimp at first, but he's actually quite smart and has guts.
