Angel Heart - kinda along the lines that you desribed.
Immortal Rain - again, kinda, the main character is already immortal to begin with, although we find out why he became that way later (he technically did 'die'). It's classed as 'shoujo', but personally I found it more shounenish.

I remember the main character dies and gets resurrected by this 'witch' girl and then he gains wind powers. At least, that's what happened in the anime. I never got to read the manga, but it should be like that, too, I guess.
edit: There's a "Resurrection" in the categories page. I guess you could sift through that.
