First of all I would like to say that I have not found any Topic regarding this matter in the Forums, maybe my search was not as thorough as it could be so if there is a Topic on this, I would ask for it to be Locked or Deleted if that's even possible.

My intent with this Topic is just to hear out your opinions regarding, as the Topic says, Overrated and Underrated Manga that you have read. By no means the Topic is about bashing the Author/Artist or even the Manga plot by comparing to other works that relate somehow to the Manga title in question, so please refrain from doing so. Comparison is allowed, don't get me wrong, but keep the comments respectful. If you would like to post a Manga that fits in this category an explanation would be appreciated, even if it's short, doesn't have to be a wall of text as I'm doing so right now. Last point I would like to point out, please refrain from posting about Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Fairy Tail since they are popular but there's quite a lot of bashing around and frankly I don't care about that discussion.

Over time, I have read quite a few titles and sometimes I have been disappointed after I completed it or caught up with the last chapter translated. Before I start reading a Manga I read the comments made by users in the comment section since I don't find the Genre and Categories enough. Some comments say it's an absolute 10, above the rating system, a regular series, a bad story and something that should have never been created, for only one title, so yeah it's quite difficult sometimes to follow these comments.

So in my case I would like to point out Superior and it's sequel Superior Cross. Won't go over how the Manga develops or it's story line but after finishing both works, I felt like there was something missing. For them to be Action/Adventure/Shounen it seemed like there was little action and the battles were somehow fast and emotionless. Personally I felt like there were more exploits that the Author could have made regarding characters.

I guess that's it for me, now I shall see how this goes.

There are threads for both overrated and underrated manga (the underrated thread often gets overlooked and duplicated, as it doesn't have "underrated" in its title).

Underrated:

Not exactly underrated, but it seemed to me that a lot of people were bashing Kimi no Knife. I thought it was written quite well and I liked the way it ended, though there were still some things left open.

Overrated:

Ares. It wasn't bad. But after looking at the ratings and reviews, it was far less than what I'd expected it to be. Except for one scene, it didn't have a lot of impact and it was quite cliche most of the time.

(May I suggest adding underrated to that thread title.)

-Sidenote I normally click Search Forums and type a keyword. Select Topic Titles , and Exact Match.

@RoxFlowz I would have to agree on both choices you have made, Kimi no Knife was written pretty good, haven't finished yet but the character development was quite good and pretty enjoyable. Regarding Ares, I'm a sucker for his kind of character but I expected to be more after reading the whole of it.
@Knightzomegaz I would put Nana to Kaoru in the Underrated part. I don't think it is a popular Manga (might be terribly mistaken) but aside from the plot, the relationship between the Main Characters is outstanding and how they evolve every chapter, I think we don't find it anymore in the Categories/Genre NtK falls into.

So I was skimming through my lists and Over Drive falls into my Underrated List. I will not say that the art is sublime but it the struggle of Shinozaki, with himself, his love interested and his professionalism is quite realistic and how it is portrayed by the author with pin-point accuracy.
