I read countless mangas and I have noticed that I no longer have anything to read. I NEED help.
Currently there is a few types of mangas that I want to read.

  1. Mangas that are overrated like Claymore, naruto, bleach, saver, and id. With all the actions that causes addiction. Romance would be a bonus XP.

  2. Manga where the girl suffered a tragic past and it kept her away from people/etc. Then the guy slowly helps her past the trauma.

  3. Manga where the girl and guy finally falls in love, but a 2nd girl appears and succeeds in breaking them up by making the guy mistrust the girl. They get bak to together in the end.

  4. Manga where a pretty/strong girl tries to pretend to be a ugly girl, or a male. Then surprises all the people around her. Historical is a bonus, but not needed.

  5. Manga where there contains a heart breaking incest (like the Flower of evil).

You might have noticed that every single one is very detailed....I'm sry in advance.

Please no hentai, doujinshi, lolicon, josei, yuri, yaoi, shounen ai, shoujo ai, ecchi, and shotacon.

Romance is always a bonus btw (and im pretty sure most of the description above is romance...)

This is some of the mangas that i read
Claymore / naruto / bleach / saver / id / superior / kurohime / the bride of water god / the changeling / vampire knight / cat street / PGR / The flower of evil / Ani com / I love my little sister / Arcana / Click / Code Breaker / Chiro Star Project / cynical orange / delinquent lesson / angel diary / divine melody / w juliet / vanilla ice / switch girl / spam mail hunter / Sonan Jyanaiyo / show princess / shiwhamong / pig bride / Papillon - Hana to Chou / fairy tail

MARS could definitely fit number two. its primarily romance, but there is comedy, and quite a bit of physchological drama. it turns into a much deeper manga than what a person might think in the beginning.

Inuyasha might fight number one, if you haven't read it. its really long, and its got a bit of everything.

and they are both finished mangas!

For number one, the following are some good, addicting action manga worth checking out. They aren't quite on the same level as Bleach/Naruto in terms of being popular and overrated though.

Superior - Action + romance. I think you'll like this one
Kurohime - I know you said no ecchi, but if you give this manga chance and follow it through to the fifth volume you'll find a quality action romance manga that could maybe make you overlook that part of it
Shin Angyo Onshi - an exceptional, addicting action manga. contains some romance too
Vampire Juujikai - an excellent action manga. contains some tragic romance as well.
Kurokami - kinda similar to something like Bleach. A good action story; only a minimum level of romance

Why no josei, I wonder?? And it would help if you could tell us what you've already read, so we don't list things you have already read.

For #1, how about Dragonball, Hajime no Ippo, Case Closed, Flame of Recca, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, Prince of Tennis. Inuyasha does fit as well.

For #2, you've read the ones I thought of.

For #4, Perfect Girl Evolution. Ouran Host Club perhaps.

For 2 you could try Yunagi no machi; Sakura no kuni. It's an amazing manga and it fits the description, but it might be a bit heavier then what you're looking for.

Great Teacher Onizuka is also very addicting, has great action scenes, pump up scenes, and dramatic/sad scenes. The characters really draw you in and the story is done insanely well. A long manga which is complete. This is something anyone who likes manga definitely needs to read.

Hunter X Hunter can be sad but it's mostly an action manga that is a vaunted classic which is one of my favorite mangas of all time.

Kekkaishi is definitely something you are looking for. Rated very highly, lots of action, fantasy and many sad and comedic moments.

Konjiki No Gash is a very addicting manga with alot of comedy. There are some sad parts and I just figured you might want to check it out since it is quite long.

I could list more but I'm sure that if you start any one of these, you'll be busy reading them instead of checking the list for more. They're definite must-try's if you're getting into manga. Well, hope at least one of them appeal to you because all 4 of those are my favorites of those not yet listed. Enjoy.

edit - I forgot to mention, all these are meant for #1.
