I don't want to be rude or anything but your title is spelled wrong. At least I think so. It's Konichiwa. You spelled Konnichiha. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi welcome to MU!

@E-chan52: Ha and Wa are the same.

No their not. only if it's in particle use. right?

That's not Japaneses....it's just the English pronunciation of Japanese.....

I can't seem to find the thingy that lets me write it on here. Someone sent me the stuff but it doesn't seem to be working for me.

Hello! I've been here a while, but I don't think I introduced myself.

I am a young, American male.

I have a rather strong obsession with manga and anime. I'm learning Japanese in school, though still have a bit of trouble with it. Mostly speaking or writing something, rather than understanding.

I like Romance manga, usually of the Shounen variety. No hentai, yuri yaoi, or other creepy types. Ecchi is borderline.

Anyway, hi!

今日は、きかる くん。ザイリで す。私も日本語 を学校で勉強し ています。カタ カナとかんじは どうですか。読 むことと書きこ とができますか

(For those who did not that understand thatsmile

Hello, kikaru-kun. I'm Zylle. I'm studying Japanese in school too. How is your katakana and kanji? (Literally) Can you do reading and writing?

I am a Canadian girl. Pleased to meet you.

It's spelled correctly. Konichiwa is a romanized spelling of how it's pronounced, but it's spelled differently in the actual Japanese language (Konnichiha: ha being pronounced wa in this case).

I'm sure someone else can offer a better explanation of why it is so, but it's definitely こんにちは not こにちわ.

Hehe... the "wa" in "konnichiwa" is written "ha". Not sure why. The two 'n's is the part I'm not sure about. The introduction itself was finished about an hour after I started, and in the 'dead time' after a sugar rush. See this:

@Zylle: Can't write much yet. Still only in the first half the course, where you learn grammer, mostly. Can't actually carry on a conversation yet... no

To get the characters, I use Wikipedia's character tables, and copy-paste. I would like to find something to let me type in kana/kanji though.
