Hello to any manga fans out there; Helvetica is in dire need for fresh blood! We're a loose group that scanlate for fun and enjoyment. If you join and want to work on manga that hasn't been touched/dead, many of our group members are willing to hop on it as a friend and co-worker.

We're currently a bundle of 30 members that consider everyone in the group family. We do mostly seinen manga, but all projects must strictly be either previously dead or untouched. Our one exception is Tokyo Ghoul:re, being that everyone of us is a long time fan of the series.

We usually accept people of all skill types for the reason of offering them training. If anyone is ever looking to advance their skills, they can kindly ask and others will be willing to help. Those who join can also pick and choose what they want to work on, but helping your friends is always a priority. Trust and teamwork is a big key in getting work done.

We're currently looking for:

[Medium] Translators: Chinese, Japanese.

[Highish] Re-drawers: We’re always looking for editors that are inspired to push out manga.

[Low] Cleaners: Not an urgent need, but it will be one soon.

[Very High] Typesetters: We’re currently lacking the required amount to make sure our projects can have failsafes.

[Low] Proofreaders: We currently have a bountiful staff of PR’s. However, if you have a good amount of experience behind you, let us know and we’ll truly consider you.

[Medium] Quality Checkers: This role is very important. Being so, requirements will be set high. Do not let this scare you though! It’s a position that is always demanding more people.


Unlike most groups, we take the liberty to translate and typeset SFX because while our translators can read it, others cannot. This creates a barrier of understanding between the Japanese and English communities in which we aim to eliminate.

Hey!

The title says you're searching for QCers and editors... I'm currently fairly busy so I can offer QC (depends on what you consider QC too tough), otherwise I'd offer occasionally translation and more active editing as well.
But I've wanted to work on Bin - Sonshi Iden for years but due to lack of time I never started it (aka I wouldn't have even remotely frequent releases). I'd love to try working on it with you guys, given that we could assemble a team. I'd start of with QC but i'd try and help at other mentioned areas later down the road too.

It's great to hear that. However, it's never guaranteed that a requested project will begin in the near future. They're always added to the list though, and will be done at some point.

If you're okay with that and still want to help work on the untouched manga, send in an application on our site if you haven't yet.

I have to say no than. I don't think I can afford working on any additional series out site of my interest atm. Hoozuki no Reitetsu kinda is part of it it but I have no desire to actually scanlate it. Others I have never engage into and have no interest do so now either.

If you ever do consider Bin, and will actually work on it, do poke me cause I'll jump on that train right away.

The following series still need help! Positions needed for each series are specified below.

Grand Blue: EXPERIENCED redrawers (due to some hard and tedious SFX redraws).
Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu: Cleaners. (We will train you!!!)
Kings' Viking: Redrawers.
Kine-san no 1-ri de Cinema: EXPERIENCED proofreaders (Could be that you worked for other scanlation groups in the past or is currently taking a degree that specializes in the English language).

Also. A QUALITY CHECKER for either Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu or Kings' Viking would be nice!

Unless specified, no experience is required but we definitely would want some dedication and commitment from you. We're one big happy family after all!

We also need help in the following future projects:

Tokyo Tarareba Musume (by the mangaka of Princess Jellyfish and Kakukaku Shikajika) needs a Redrawer, Typesetter and Quality Checker.
