I'm kind of tired of manga where either the guy is strong and the girl is weak or vice versa. I feel like reading a manga where the girl and guy are both bad***es (and don't die at the end). One of them can hide their strength, but they both have to be strong. A good example of what I am looking for would be Jun'ai Tokkou Taichou!. I would prefer shoujo or shounen but other genres are okay as long as the main guy and girl can fight well and defend themselves. They can even fight each other (as long as they end up together eventually). I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Tokyo Crazy Paradise: you might not like the art at first, but it gets a lot better. That girl really is strong. Akuma to Love song: although that one is not action but is strong in a sense that she isn't a typical shoujo character (who's so helpless all the time). Kaichou-wa Maid Sama: ditto. Although this might be a bit cliche. Kurohime: Brilliant. W-Juliet is good too.

Well, nothing more i can think of, off my head at the moment.
Hope that helps. (:

I second Superior(Both are powerful) and Kurohime(Kurohime has super strong hidden powers)
then try:
Ashita no Yoichi(Funny manga.. both of them are quite strong)
Aflame Inferno(Actually they're enemies at the start)

Well almost all of 'em are action mangas except for Ashita no yoichi.. and all have a mix of romance

Hrrm in Strongest Disciple Kenichi The main female character is Bad@ss from the start and hides it. The main Male Character starts out weak but gradually becomes a strong martial artist through training. Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but it's close.

special A is very good
well and the heroines from hot blooded woman and boys over flowers are really great. the hero's are picking on them, but they fight back.
i didn't really read Love SOS, only the beginning and there they were both fighting.
i hope this is what you're looking for biggrin

I have to second Tokyo Crazy Paradise if you havent read it, it's well worth the read.

Immortal Rain is very good- both the hero and the heroine can kick butt when the occasion requires it.

hmmm... You might also like click- if you don't mind gender bender, but both the two main protagonists are good fighters and can defend themselves. (They both are definately bad**ss in my opinion lol)

edit: thought of another one - Tenshi na Konamaiki - gender bender again (I think), but the characters kinda remind me of the ones in Jun'ai Tokkou Taichou!. (As in, both characters are deliquents in general biggrin )

I sometimes think that in Fullmetal Alchemist, even though the girl (Winry) is not a major character, that she is pretty strong as well.

Maybe you could make an argument that Sword of the Dark Ones has some pretty strong female characters.

maybe Basara (although at the beginning she seems really weak, don't be fooled, she is not)
I also second Tokyo Crazy Paradise and Akuma to Love Song.
maybe you'd also like Beauty Is The Beast, it's not about fighting, it's a shoujo, but the girl is not your typical crybaby, I really like her.
and :
Hana Ni Arashi
Akuma de Junai
. It's a shoujo, and the girl at first is a crybaby but
Spoiler (highlight to view)
she hasdouble personality and the other one is really strong.
