I'm really going to miss onemanga personally, but it's kind of sad to see how quickly manga sites and scanlator groups are disappearing. cry

Has anyone thought to question why it is going to take a week for OneManga to remove all their series and as to why 'they are removing the series over the course of the next few days'?

The way things are going is just sad and scary.
All mangas I bought, I did after having read scanslations. I would not have discovered many great works and author had not it been for scanslations and free reads, and I wouldn't have bought any of them.
I'm worried about rare manga disappearing too, ones that is impossible to buy. It would be such a shame!

And I have to say, the quality of official releases isn't always acceptable. If the release is good I would so much prefer to have books over scans.
I hope that licensors don't loose sight of us, the manga lovers!!

all publishers are doing is making the online manga community angry. no i enjoyed reading from onemanga a lot more than mangafox because mf's ads were so freakin annoying and it was also annoying to see people's [noob] comments in the little discussion thing on the manga series pages. i wish they wouldnt do that at all since it could ruin the experience (it ruins mine cuz i get really annoyed at dumb people...). sigh. it's gonna suck when there's no more onemanga. cry

if fansubbing becomes banned (with strong enforcement), then we know THAT'S going to be a major problem...

Eeeeh, this breaks my heart! sad They were my favorite manga site. I know mangafox has everything, but mangafox doesn't have keyboard browsing and sometimes their ads autoplay, which makes me sad. And the site was so simple and wonderful!

Onemanga - my first scanslations site. You will always be in my heart.

i have to say i will really miss OM its been my favorite throughout the years besides the quality isnt even bad at all. MF does have the occasional viruses but i still enjoy it. but one thing i must say is that by getting rid of these online sites i believe they are making a big mistake if anything they are probably ruining their own business. I myself support the author by buying the series online but the biggest problem here is that i can't read it! i need english!? and if im unable to read it online whats the use of me even bothering to buy it online? if i can't understand it? sure the drawings are nice and beautiful but whats the use? no story=no point i might as well dump it/recycle it!
-anyone here agree with me? mad

It's shocking that OM is being closed down, but like some people said already OM wasn't a really good site to rely on for manga. There are tons of other sites that you can go to and catch up on various manga you haven't read in a while. And besides, it's better to just go directly to the scanlator sites and download them anyway.

Quote from John21
no chances of mangaupdates closing right?? Cos it seems like with all the online reading sites closing we will need to go directly to scanlatorz website.

Now this is when I'll start freaking out. Seeing how MU is a database site that names the scanlators and has links to almost EVERY SINGLE scanlator website, it'll be a huge step back if this place gets shut down.

I'm devastated. Even though we all should have seen this coming with the publishers starting to take some action, but this just sucks! I love OneManga, and it sucks even more that this might just be the beginning. With OM gone, others sites and groups might start disappearing as well! Man I hate big-shot companies so so much.
