I'd like to suggest for a manga to be able to be sorted to multiple reading list.

So, instead of only using it for keeping track of progress like reading, complete, wish to read, on-hold.. I want to sorted it into what I remember for them... So just like personal tag.

Oh! Why don't just separate it altogether? So developing 'Status of Reading' refers to progress track as what already existed right now, and 'Reading List' refers to the list we created according to what we values.

I mean, every manga page has 'tags' on what categories this manga is about.. nah, if we click on those tags, there will tons of manga that in line with the tag, but ofc not all of those manga resonant with us or impressed us enough to make us want to reread or recs to someone else.

For example:
'manga A' is about 'childhood friend become lovers' but also 'angst', 'salaryman', 'innocent love' etc
'manga B' about 'fluff' 'salaryman'
'manga C' about 'childhood friend become lovers' 'salaryman'

and so I'd like to create reading list 'childhood friend become lovers' containing manga A and C; and 'salaryman' containing manga A, B, and C, and so on..

just like in the manga reading website, but applies it in this website instead, because I think creating a list here would be much more permanent than other website that always on the hunt by the rightful copyrights (this website is basically only a library, right?)

If this could be considered, I would be delightful and start costumising my reading list right away!

Edit: and if this could be considered, while at it, allow us to give brief description on each manga we put on the list, why we put it to the list, or what memorable from that manga that resonant to the list, so when we revisit the reading list and see the description of each manga in the list, we remember what we like

em 100% you can already do that
and if u want to leave notes on each title there are other sites that allow that like MAL or anilist or kitsu, etc

really? can you show me how?
because I've tried to create some reading list just now...
and when I go to manga page, the only option is to choose just one reading list.. so after I placed them in reading list 'A', I cannot put them in reading list 'B' and obviously it also disappeared from 'completed list' that is automatically generated here..

Please tell me 🙂

and MAL and anilist yes, but they serve different purpose. it's for animated ones, while this website is for non-animated like manga, manhwa, manhua, webtoon.. not all of manga is animated.
and yes, I can do that in website which offers online reading instead but I figured I'd like to create them here instead since I believe this website will last even longer than those online manga reading website--that's why the suggestion.
I'll be happy If this can be accommodated, but if not, then I guess I'll start making them in online manga reading website and sincerely hope that the website I choose has a long life...

What are you even talking about? You realize that MAL and anilist have manga too right?

actually not yet, I've checked mal today and surprised that it really has manga in it. I'm sorry..
but does it have all manga or just the one that's animated so they can be linked together?
please advise on this while I check them myself also 🙂

I think I can kind of understand where OP is coming from. They want something like NovelUpdates' "Rec Lists" feature, right? So they can create lists (separate from individual's reading lists) where they can add the same manga to multiple different lists.

I also agree that it'd be a nice feature, since I think it's one of the few things that NU has that's better than MU. (NU's actual reading lists are super annoying to use, though, haha.)

As for MAL, yeah, MAL includes manga that doesn't have anime adaptations. Their database is nowhere near as good as MU's though, and they are missing quite a few more obscure manga, but if someone wants to consolidate all their anime/manga lists, MAL is probably the best site to do so.

yes mal and anilist are missing a lot of entries but for anilist at least you can submit missing manga and you just need to wait for a mod to add it

I’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO SAY THIS
I made a custom list today for my manga all time faves (the ones I can reread 100x and never get tired of), and I realized for the mangas that were already in my “Completed” list, they could only go in one list. So I had to choose whether I wanted them in the Completed list or in my Faves list when I want them in BOTH! Please make this happen!! I’m sure we’re not the only ones wanting this as well. For now, I’m just saving my favorites in a folder in my Chrome Bookmarks but I want to be able to do it on MU as well!! :-)
