Man, I despised PE. Mostly because:

-my school didn't offer many sports I enjoyed and most of the time you didn't even have a choice what you did
-I'm also really bad at a lot of sports so I always felt like I was letting my team down in team sports, and I've always been a bad swimmer and though I enjoy swimming on holiday or something, I have a fear of drowning so I hate being submerged under the water - thus being forced to do proper front crawl and diving and stuff was horrible. (all my schools had pools so we did swimming pretty often.)
-I live in England so the weather was bad a lot but we still had to go out. So when you're freezing to death and soaking wet cos of the rain, can't say you're really having fun especially when people are throwing balls at you.
-Afterwards you'd be sweaty or wet from the rain or the pool, which especially sucked if you had PE at the start of the day. Taking showers after sports wasn't really a thing where I went to school, there wasn't enough time, the teachers would rush you to get to your next class.
-Most of the time I was friends with two other people in my class and because we always had to pair up, I usually ended up being the odd one out.

Having said that, I enjoyed it sometimes. I loved playing rounders in summer (is that mainly a British thing? it's really fun!!) and badminton too. My schools had great facilities. My last one was attached to a leisure centre so we did some interesting things like rock climbing. I would've enjoyed PE a lot more if they offered other sports too. I always wanted to try martial arts as part of PE.

Quote from "MewMan"
Say, in many manga, PE teachers are described as perverts. What do you think?

I remember when I was in middle school there was a male PE teacher everyone thought was a pervert. He'd often come into the girls' changing room while we were changing, apparently to remind us to hurry up and get changed, and there were tons of rumours that he was always eyeing the girls up or touching them borderline inappropriately. Other than that I'd say the teachers weren't pervy at all... quite a few of them were women in my last school and we were often sex-segregated and the girls were taught by the female teachers.

It all depends on what we were doing that day. I HATE basketball. With a passion. I am terrible at it because I'm short and I just don't like it so I don't try to be good.

Games like capture the flag, relay races or something similar I loved. Certain sports like soccor and rugby I loved but we did those very rarely.

I passed PE with a good mark but after the one maditory class, I was done. I joined rugby for the rest of my school life but nothing else sports related.

I hated PE because
1. it was mandatory and
2. all the gym teachers I've ever had have chosen favourites

not to say that I don't like exercising, it always wakes me up when I'm sleepy.

I hated it, because I'm bad at it.
The only time when I liked PE was in my final year when we got to choose things you normally don't get to do for PE, like horseriding. I love horseriding, but we only got to go three or four times; so, those times were the only times I liked PE.

I hate getting sweaty and dusty, so I've always hated PE. I skipped whenever possible; thankfully, I have a slightly bad knee and my father is a doctor, so getting a letter from an orthopaedician that exaggerated the defect was a piece of cake.
PE isn't a serious subject in schools in our country anyway. Most people find some way or the other to skip, and the teachers don't bother with them...much.

Oh, and I'm not an otaku, nor am I overweight. You don't have to hate PE to be an otaku, and hating PE or being an otaku doesn't mean you're unhealthy, either. I like walking and stuff -- I just don't fancy sports (and I particularly dislike having to memorize all the rules, having to work as a 'team', and having to listen to the PE teachers' annoying 'advice').

When I was a kid, yes.

Now, no.

Now PE is just a way to say anatomy classes, It's been two months since I last got out of the classroom in a PE class.

i love pe!
i love to run and play around with my friends. i like to think of it as play time rather than forced physical work outs. also it good to exercise because less people are exercising each day so its good to get a workout when you can.

I hated it. I was, and still am, clumsy, slow, and horrible at understanding how a game is played. Every single time we would do laps I was always the very last person and the teacher would be hopping up and down and screaming, "Almost there! Almost there, Nicole!" While the other kids would be giggling and smirking at me. Or whenever there was a game going on, be it basketball, softball, or whatnot, my head always ended up being a target for whatever errant ball that was miscalculatingly thrown by someone. Whenever there was any of those games going on, I had no idea what was going on because everyone moved so fast and I never knew where the ball was coming until it collided with my head. I have giant boobs so any sort of jumping or running was quite painful because my mom refused to buy me a reliable sports bra because they're too expensive... all in all my gym experiences were usually lonely, embarrassing and at times, painful.

i loved PE back when I was in school. We always played team sports and it was nice to have enough people to have full teams. Now I have to PT,Physical Training, for my job so I guess I still like to exercise, but we don't to play games we just run a lot and do strength training.

PE is so much fun because you can "accidentally" hit the gym teacher in the head with a volleyball. biggrin

Happened to me twice or more, but not with a volleyball, but with a basketball, which would hurt LOT more.. The teacher didn‘t do anything, well, it was an ‘accident’

I liked P.E. I especially loved it when we played badminton.
I wish we have martial arts in our standard curriculum. Very few schools here teach martial arts. I wanted to learn martial arts when I was a kid but my grandma forced on me ballet.
