i know it would be an asshole thing to do but, aren't there ways to crash a site by overloading it with simultaneous connections etc?

i am most likely outdated in my theory but just saying. besides spreading the word a few hard core activist could devise a plan to cause problems for the actual site.

if you need further explanation. an "asshole" by theory is an "asshole". Thus it being hard to be an "asshole" is an invalid reference since being an "asshole" isn't something outside of that person's norm.

maybe you meant to say "it is hard for an asshole not to be an asshole". in either case who are you referring to? me for bringing up a theory? or tazmo making money off of stupidity? either way i'm not sure where you are coming from or what would make your biased statement valid. From where i see it you are referring to me. also i said it was an asshole thing to do. Doing something outside the norm doesn't necessarily make a categorization true. all depends on the circumstances.

and FYI all my negative based posts are after initiations by other people. I have no problems with responding to comments of this nature. So try another way to be an "asshole" if you don't have your facts straight.

Is it possible for the scanlations teams to reload on servers some of their work, and to add to them this page about stopping narutofan? At least some of them - say, the most downloaded ones. I know it requires spending some time on it, but it could be a way to inform about the action people who don't read the newest scanlations or simply don't visit sites like bakaupdates.

And how about making a banner for this action? Scanlation teams could put it on their sites.

I think Bleachworld.com is Tazmo's cuz he links it near the top of Narutofan and has the same format as well.

Bleachexile looked completely different before, I don't know what it means...they cooperate or they simply have the same webmaster? As far as I know, bleachexile had the permission of maximum7 for putting their scanlations on their site. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I've just lost some of my sympathy for bleachexile...who would want to have a site looking almost the same as narutofan?

A very humorous thread indeed. This Tazmo issue has been around since the Bleach and Naruto series. If he's making money off others work, I think he's pretty smart. I mean who wants to work. In my honest opinion, please correct me if I'm wrong, we scanlators are doing what we like like to do and thats scanlating. There are people who have the time to scour the internet to find and search for their wants and there are those who do not have the time. For example games, WoW is so popular that there are private servers, but look at the amount of people playing online. This may not be a very good example but I find it quite relevant. Calling in authorities will worsen the situation. And we might be at the losing end eventually. Fighting over something which we got no control over doesn't really make sense either. If people want to pay, they will pay. Groups can complain 'donate' to them instead, but isn't that the same? I remember when I asked for donations, people donated, but that felt like im working for money. I got shame Tazmo doesnt. End of story. Just because we think we're righteous it doesn't give us the right to condemn people who WANT to pay for services, they can't be bothered. As long as they are there we can't really stop Tazmo.

get a more popular site then.

BTW working on a free anime download site, but still confused about the whole issue regarding dedicated servers.

That's a real laissez fair way of looking at things. That attitude creates monopolies and inflation in the economic world. I don't think we should be condemning the noobs who are paying out of ignorance, but we should definitely be educating them to step away from Narutofan. I don't think we can do anything to stop Tazmo from selling people hard work as his own, but we can try to affect the people who are buying it. All it would take is getting a Narutofan screen name and PMing Narutofan members with info until you bet banned for spamming. We could all take turns or something until we get bored and trail off.....but we will have educated at least some people about the site, and that's really all we can do at this point.
