So, apparently there are some people on this site who create accounts solely to down vote mangas (and especially popular ones).

Example.

Is there some function that could be input that would help stop this practice?

At the moment, no. But I am aware of the problem.

Maybe no two accounts with the same email? I doubt that it'll get rid of everything, but some would be eliminated.

If someone makes one account to vote down mangas, then that's his opinion.

It stopped being solely his opinion and went into the realm of public trolling once it affected the ranks of the mangas.

It's the same thing as me going into a manga's forum and yelling (or typing in CAPS LOCK), "LOL THIS MANGA IS SUX U R NOOBS I AHET YOU ALLS11!!oen!"

Well, there is always somekind of terrorism. smile
Some of those in the list almost deserve that 1,
but not all. <.<
If one would type that, he or she, most likely he would
get banned... and I doubt anyone would care what s/he
says.

The problem is that you can't tell which ones are opinions and which ones are made by worthless noobs.

How about forbid an ip to create multiple accounts? it won't stop them but it will stop some >_> and if you want to change the username or make a new account, admin or mod? I'm not fond with this idea but just suggesting.

Then that means that two people who share a computer can't both have an account.

Worse than that two people living in the same household but with different computers would still not be able to both have an account sad

That has been in effect since the site's creation.

Why not hunt down those who exist solely to give crappy manga 10s? In the end, it'll balance itself out.

i'm kinda surprised people go that far just to affect a manga's ranking ><

why not make the registration a little harder....or make it so taht a person can't rank a series until their account is at least a certain amount of time old...should deter them slightly

Well, that's because they're not trolling anything. Even if their tastes are fucked up, they're not doing any harm.

They are though, as the accumulation of biased voting leads series to the top; but by seeking to cut out the "trolls" as you call them, you are inadvertantly giving these series an undeserved higher rating than is the case.

Anyways, if you want to fight against trolls... then troll right back. Give it a 10.

Undeserved? Look at Claymore's distribution. Mostly 9's and 10's, some 8's, but then there's a huge gap in ranking distribution and there's twenty 1's. Twenty people have valid reasons for rating the series a 1? Bullshit.

I don't think you understand the concept of rating something fairly. If someone's only read Naruto, you can't short them for giving it a 10. Assuming someone had terrible experiences with manga before, but then they get into Bleach and like it, well then it deserves a 10. But those mangas don't deserve 1's because they succeed, even from a minimalist standard, on a critical level.

Guess you're bitter because the manga you're working on is less popular than a leper. All things taken into consideration, Akazukin should be sitting around a 7-8 ranking. But I gave it a 10 because I really liked it. SORRY FOR TROLLING.
