no!!
even though there is like some smut out there that have that as like the main plot.. the said "dominant"male does things to the weak female lead because she has done something that is uber minor to him!! o h damn it.. but i have to admit some of those guys are overly smexy and it usually ends ina rather sweet way.. but still!! hell no!! im a feminist!

i think u have read some of shinjo mayu's works biggrin
that author is an extreme chauvinist all his manga are like that

nope not really.. the only one ive read by her is [m]Harlem Beat until Dawn[/m]..

uhmm.. but it still feels like rape when the guy is like forcing himself on the girl to have sex.. right?? because for me the definition of rape is forcing one's genitals into another, without their liking.. at first.. DAMN! this rape stuff is getting hard to think about.. everything get warped and fluffy when its put in the world of shoujo!!

Wait! Shinjo Mayu's a guy!!?? That... explains everything?

It's funny, because there are a LOT of girl who falll in love for rapists, serial killers, etc. This "OH! gross! I'm a girl and I will never understand, I'm feminist" is just fake-truth.

In fact, women have pre-selection for this kind of guy. There are a few books (and coments right here) that can prove it.

There are some women who do fall for these extremely abusive 'bad boy' types but claiming that women "have pre-selection for this kind of guy" just because some books and quotes told you so is ignorant and stupid. Even more so when so many woman are straight out saying how wrong they think it is in this very thread.

Anyway, in case it didn't come through, I totally dislike these kinds of things. But mostly because the girl is just so pathetic when it comes to the situation that it frequently feels like they're retarded. I don't dig this in BL either, which is why I stay away from stuff like Okane ga Nai.

They don't have to be all GAR but geez at least show some backbone!

she is a woman. how did yo get this idea?
.if the rapist is cool and handsome it is okay to fall for him. in manga.
in RL i´d rather kill the rapist then fall in love with him

looooooool. awesome logic right there... though, i hope it's not rape in the manga... but more like... being a little too pushy (and he's a boyfriend or is in love - not lust - with the girl)? but that's manga... in real life, if a guy were to sexually harass me, i'd friggin render him impotent... the jerk... trying to take advantage of a girl...

---
edit: yeah, i vote: no... why would you fall in love with your rapist?

Here's my two cents.
I feel this concept is the most retarded plot device I have ever read.
I don't read much shoujo, mostly because I've read too many summaries that mention some sort of abduction, buying of the girl, rape or other things of that sort, yet the girl will still fall in love with the guy. How some of these guys in shoujo manga treat the girls, yet they still fall for him baffles me. It's stupid and makes no rational sense.
It seems to me that the guy could kidnap her, lock her in his basement, pull out her fingernails, rape her over the course of years, father several childeren with her, but she would still fall in love with him as long as he's hot.
I could totally imagine something like that being serialized at some point, if it hasn't already.

But then again, I'm a guy so what the hell do I know. I like rationality, where it seems most women think more emotionally. (fact)

No, I don't see the logic.

Unless the "rapist" is just a pushy boyfriend and he knows she wants it.

I can't stand to see that happen, even if its not real. I nearly burned all my Hot Gimmick volumes after I finished the series.

So upsetting!

I carefully read the back summaries of new series now, to save me some heartache later.
