after the meal in german we say "danke" and in polish we say "dziekuje"(difficult for foreighners to spell) and both of them mean "thank you".

We have say
Lai Cha Lo
meaning "Come, Let's Eat" in Taiwanese to our elders and wait for them to start eating before we can eat.
As for with friends, well, let's just say "You Snooze You Lose"

well i usually say “我不客气了”(wo bu ke qi le) when i start to eat.
but there are also people who want to say it politely,
they use “请慢用”(qing man yong).
and my family always say “慢慢吃”
(man man chi)

In russian we say "priatnova aptetita"... It's like bon apettite in french...

i can't think of any for english or chinese, there is qing man yong, but i've only heard waiters at restruants say that
