You can try [m]S.I.D.[/m] if you don't mind webcomics.

As for manga, this probably fits Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro

Update! Sorry guys, I've been really busy so haven't been able to go through all the suggestions, not yet at least ;D

@kishiru, Perfect! I'm actually reading it right now!
/edit ILOVETHISMANGA.

@Tsubamex, Will check this out! Cover looks pretty ahhmmaazziinn' I might say. Oh and the synopsis looks really good. I think your suggestions have been perfect so far. This is great hahaha. Thanks! I'll be reading this right after I finish Tousei Gensou Hakubutsushi.
Edit// ONFHUDKEBGUAJEBDCHIDHEHE THAT WAS SO SCARY I CAN'T EVEN. I'm ok with creepy but when you have the spirits appear with their bloodied faces and creepy arse smile it's just asking me to start bawling and getting my whole family to go to the washroom with me.

I think I need to add additional filler: cases must be solved at the end of the day eyes

@crazyboutcute, Ah I understand. I'm not into gore either. I'm more of the spiritual creepy horror type. That's why I'm looking for something with comedic undertone as to calm the atmosphere. Yami no Matsuei may not really fit the bill here because it sounds like it's more gore than mysteriously creepy horror. CDS probably fits more. I will try that out after I finish all the manga recommendations eyes

@0oKat~0, For some odd reason I've been trying to avoid this because of the cover--doesn't quite appeal to me. However, it's been suggested before I believe so I may give it a go then. Thank you!

Thank you for all of your suggestions, guys! I'll add onto the list since I've recently went to a used bookstore and bought myself a couple of manga.

I found Yurara to BORDERLINE-ly fit the bill. It's not as creepy as I would like but there are some arcs that have the eerie dark classroom feel to it. I wouldn't put this on the top of the list since it doesn't really fit what I'm looking for but I like how it has random comedic undertone to it.

Update!

Recently found Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria (Novel) which is a light novel but it's ridiculously good and it is definitely a detective horror type of storyline. eyes

Why it fits the bill:
1. There's calm and ordinary life moments.
2. Paranormal cases, there's 6 volumes and I believe each volume is a different case. They're not detectives though but they investigate.

Conductor is not episodic, but it's definitely horror and mystery, the kind with many layers

Thank you, Andrez-ssi!

I recently found Shiranui Kitanroku which seems episodic because the main guy tells a creepy story per chapter.
