Drive around town and look for Dollar Menus. cool

roll eyes

Gas
Money

Do not have.

Go to a church. Churches often have dinner or snacks to give to the kids. My church has a kitchen. I just dig in the fridge occasionally for brownies and such. But maybe that's just the church I go to. confused

So far from what I've seen, only Evangelical Churches do that right?

Not true, though there has been break ins lately so only members get ot raid the fridge(me for instance smile ). My church would gladly give money to buy, if your either member or did some work around there.

I second stealing. This just what I do when I'm REALLY hungry and literally have no food money. I go to a super market, and at the delis where they take your order for chicken, fries, and all that other crap... that you have to pay later at the checkout - order a thing. Eat the food and hide the container in an aisle, and then walk out of the store. :> Mission accomplished~

For drinks, take one out of the drink thingy (a bottle or can - don't get a 2L bottle). Drink it in the store, and see above for how to dispose of it. Repeat process for chips, cookies, and whatever.

GET RID OF THE EVIDENCE SOMEWHERE NO ONE WILL LOOK. Put it behind all the cereal boxes. Make sure no one is in the aisle with you. Do it casually, don't make it obvious you're trying to hide something.
Another thingy you can do is just steal food to take home... Most supermarkets in Canada & US, they trust their costumers more. ;] So... It just makes it easier to steal. Take said food article (don't take 20 things though... Just some instant noodles, a bag of chips, etc), and rip off the bar code. If it's an item like cookies they sell by the deli in those plastic things, where the price & bar code is just stuck on top, rip it off. For a bag of chips, open it all the way down. Then rip off the bar code.

For items like those packs that have various of them in them (box of brownies for snacks, etc), open the box and steal one or two of said things. So if it's a bag with 20 snack-sized bag of chips, take one or two outta them. Now that it's Halloween season, you have lots more options when it comes to chocolate and snacks. :]

Don't forget to take a grocery bag from home~ With the store's name. ^.^ Hide the article(s) you're stealing there. :,)

If you're in the mood for fast food, go to the drive thru of a fast food restaurant. Say your friend / dad / brother came by earlier but they forgot medium fries / small pop / salad etc. in their order. Make it small. Don't ask for a Triple Cheeseburger combo. One small thing, that's it. >_>

At the most, they'll ask you for a receipt or shoo you off. But since this is US / Canada / whatever, we're trustable citizens. ;D I find this method works surprisingly well. Most of the time , no one questions me besides a receipt. I just tell them my brother / friend / whatever still has it, and most of the time they'll just I've me what I want. They don't care, they're not losing anything by giving me a little thing. If yu fail at one restaurant, don't give up! Try the next restaurant.

So after you get your side of Medium fries from McDonalds, and you're still hungry, move onto Wendy's! then Burger King. And continue till you've got a full meal. ;] Don't make it a habit though. Then the workers will memorize your car & face if you go too often.

And that's my way of feasting when I'm broke. Only do it if you really can't afford any good shit, otherwise you'll get in shit if you get caught, and your biggest problem won't be what to eat anymore. :]

Happy stealing~

No money no food? then try this

put dirty and ragged clothes, put some dirt on your skin and hair. Find a place were people could pass, and beg for money dead

you can shoplift

or you can try to call family, friends and/or loved one, and ask for a help, it does miracles.

Do not try to find food on trash cans, believe me, it doesn't work

Visit your grandparents. Even if I'm completely filled up, they still tries to give me food. It's harder to refuse food than to try to get food from them Oo

I have been in that situation before, I was only able to get my hands on canned veggies every few days or so, I would watch fear factor and that would get rid of my desire to eat most of the time.

I always ate ramen when I had no money. I mean, a pack of ramen costs about 10 cents and 9 of them will feed you for a week. Obviously you need to ration them and you're always hungry, but if you only need to starve for a week or two, it'll work out. Any longer than that and you're going to risk some malnutrition and dizziness.

And drink lots of water. You can go without food for days as long as you're hydrated.

Edit: And if you have any high quality grocery stores nearby then you should drop by around 10 in the morning or 2 in the afternoon to grab the free samples (places like Whole Foods or, if you live in Texas, Central Market is even better).

Did anyone mention food banks yet? The ones around here give out grocery bags of basic foods, no application, no questions asked.

If "no money for food" is an ongoing issue rather than a one-time thing, please consider applying for food stamps or other govt. assistance rather than stealing food. (~_~) Not only does stealing food carry the risk of getting caught, it also forces businesses to raise prices for everyone in order to cover their losses. (T_T)

I have a job, just a few expenses that leave me with no grocery money.

Too proud to get gov't assistance or to steal. Either of those will not happen. Ever.

I need ramen sad

And you don't have enough free time for another part-time job. Could you carpool or something to save on gas? That would probably help.

Depending on the area, it may not be that easy to get a second job; even part-time jobs aren't necessarily easy to come by. Also it's pretty common for part-time jobs - in my area at least - to have inconsistent schedules, so it's really hard to have more than one. no

As long as you're only deciding that for yourself, I have no argument with it. I do hope, however, that if you're ever responsible for children & in a similar situation you will put their well-being above your pride and make sure that they have adequate nutrition even if it means getting govt. assistance.

One other possibility, depending on the kind of place you live - around here if you go just out of town (it's a longish walk, but it is walkable), there are quite a few apple trees by the roadsides that no one cares about & no one will care if you pick the apples --> free food! biggrin

Awesome point, TofuQueen! You could even plant your own fruit trees. (Need money, first. Or just find someone that will give you seeds or part of their tree.)

<find everything edible you have at home, bung it together and cook.
>take advantage of free samples
>go to a gardening center and nick the fruit from some of their trees

Fruit trees take years to grow, so I don't think that's an option. But looking for fruit trees in the neighborhood is an awesome suggestion.

If you have a job, I don't understand why you don't just borrow some money from your friends. They know that you can pay them back. Unless you have a history of not returning stuff you borrow.
