First Anime: Ouran High School Host Club

As they played the game...I waited for someone to call "onigiri." But no one called. I was very little then. I had almost forgotten about that. [...] But they knew...there would never be room for an onigiri...in a fruits basket.

First anime... don't remember. Maybe Inuyasha, idk. I've been kinda banned from everything, including pokemon, for violence, until grade 5 lol. So yea, it could've been anything that I accidentally saw on tv.
As for manga, my first was a manhwa actually. The Bride of the Water God I believe. First manga I think is Ouke no Monshou, recommendation from my mom. Seems like she's been reading since, or at least during, high school.

Rurouni Kenshin was my first anime when someone gave it to me, and I really liked Shisio, the bandaged bad-guy. Artistically, he made it all work. And I liked Sanousuke... (checks spelling...) Sanosuke, the wise, funny, guy who lived life so ardently. Oh, and the cooly elegant policeman, Saito Hajime. I liked all the characters. Then I kept searching and watching and ending up obsessing over manga. I say it's just a phase, but the ways of manga are infinite and it's been years now. But my first (not exactly) anime/manga was probably the Japanese film, The Samurai Trilogy.

Plus all the Kurasawa movies. Yojimbo, The Throne Of Blood, (a Japanese version of Macbeth) and The Seven Samurai and Sanjuro, and lest we forget, Ran. Some said that Kurasawa was westernizing Japanese culture, I guess. *sigh, wanders off to dig through movie collection*
Oh and I saw Samurai Reincarnation before I ever saw any manga. Quite a different genre and director and universe. That was mind-blowing.
